i do have to leave room for fug factor money ei gasquets lines wire and paint cleaner sand blasting material on the parts im gonna be refurbing il have a threat with pics when i get to work iv got my work cut out for me

There is no Precision front mount any longer. I just bought an FMIC from RJC & am pleased with the instalation.

$350 for a Dutt Neck IC is almost 1/2 an FMIC. That is where the restriction is though.

Maybe keep your eye on the classifieds for a front mount. I've seen several pop up recently.

good point my plan was to get the dutt will i have stock turbo and sell it again i could prob get same price im paying for it back and put that down on a fmic at that time when i get te44 and alky

could always ebay one but there supper hit or miss iv seen some that if there not knock off 129 bucks for one just need to make piping

I'm not sure I can make this any clearer. Do not waste $350 on a Dutt necked intercooler. If you want to upgrade the intercooler just save up until you can afford a precision stock location or a rjc front mount. For your car right now the best upgrade is going to be the alky kit and an alky chip burned for your combo. That is $650 or so. You can get methanol from speed shops or at a race track, usually $5-7 a gallon. Or you can go to Lowe's, Home Depot, etc and buy denatured alky for $14 a gallon.

I know it is hard to come up with a plan and a list of parts that you like, and then others try to tell you what you should and shouldn't do. I'm trying to help you out and save you from wasting your money. If you pay $350 for that intercooler you might be able to sell it for $150 -$200. Brian @ gbodyparts is a great guy and Im sure he wouldnt mind taking your $$, but knowing Brian he would probably try to talk you out of it and put it towards more important things.

If you really want a Dutt neck, buy one from Kirban for $80 or whatever and take it to a COMPETENT welder/fabricator and have them put it on your stock intercooler.

Single nozzle for anything slower than 10.8 seconds I think. A gallon of alky.. It really depends on your driving style, but I have not gone through a 5 gallon pale yet in... 4 months?

Nix

i should be fine then cuz i only drive it to cruise nights and back most of the time im driving a 10 ton hlvw wreker around

Do yourself a favour and get a plan and stick to it;) .The front mounts you are finding are chinese junk and have no place on our cars.Universal means it doesn't fit anything goodo_O .Find yourself a good SLIC(precision being the cadillac) or a good used one.The secret to any car is a combination and contrary to popular belief bigger is NOT always better.Good luck

Do NOT waste your money on a Dutt Neck!!!! there is ZERO gain in it. Anyone that says differently did not read what Kenny himself said about the mod...........He had to rotate the compressor housing to get the outlet to line up with the new intlet (intercooler) and THAT had caused the wastegate actuator to put two more pounds of boost (more pre-load on the wastegate canister), and not the theretical gain of airflow. This was said 20+ years ago. Just take a die grinder to the intercooler inlet and remove about .150" all the way around the inlet. I have welded many Duttnecks over the years and they are tricky to get just right. I takes a JIG to do it correctly, or you will have trouble aligning the turbo and the intercooler. Save your money and buy a Precision stock location intercooler. It will get you into the 9's. We are running 10.03@136+ with one (on dual nozzle Alky and pump gas). The RJC front mountintercooler would also be a better choice. Read, read and read some more on here to learn what these cars need. BEFORE you buy ANY parts, ask on here and most of us will gladley steer you in the right direction, and not into a money pit and aggrivation.

makes sense im still a lil unsure about alky kit something about it worrys me just price togeter everything i needed and im looking about 3200.00 with a gbody front mount progresive alky kit chip 42.5 injectors high output coil afpr and fp gauge 3.5 maf and translator new stocke headers cooper gasquets hr motor mounts tubular a arms stainless feed line and fiber glass bumpers if i ad paint cleaning supply and sand blasting material il be around 3400 what should i expect power wise out of all that

Leave your stock system intact until you have the money. The stock headers will get you DEEP in the ten second range, so leave 'em alone. Skip the copper gaskets. Skip the intercooler (for now). Tubular A-arms are NOT needed. Stainless feed line is NOT needed. Stock coil is fine (if in good condition, as it'll support over 900HP) Fiberglass bumpers do not make a huge difference, either. Boost and more boost make all the difference. Ported heads, roller cam, and matching turbo will make way more gains than most of what you are planning on buying. A stock short block is safe (properly tuned) to 10.50's. If you are making enough power to do that, then a roll bar is NEEDED and good brakes should also be added to you NEEDED list. Make verything you currently have work before buying anything. Don't think for one second that adding this or that part will make it a 10 second car. Many people will buy thousands of dollars in parts and gain .2 in the 1/4. Research will prevent poor choices in part purchasing. Just trying to save you aggrivation and money. Good luck.

so if i leave out the alky and fmic what kind of gains should i look at im replacing coil because i find mine is getting old oil feed was because i have one made by hand at the monent and it makes me feel un easy the bumper arent really for the wieght reduction its mostly just cuz i love the look of the smooth and my front bumper has a dent from previous owner and back bumper is rusted

the bumper arent really for the wieght reduction its mostly just cuz i love the look of the smooth and my front bumper has a dent from previous owner and back bumper is rusted

Oh you want the "look".. Well I'd def go with them in that case. Get rid of the rusty bumpers!!

i find it will give it a nice on the eyes look to go with mine bieng lowerd and blacked out
for go fast parts wise you guys still recomend alky with stock turbo and stock ic or alky stock turbo pte stock location strech ic or stock turbo strech slicand no alky, should i stick to the basics and do it all at the same time ei turbo ic alky tq converter heads intake cam right now i just want some more guts and a clean look for atlantic nationals this year hense the stainless lines i have most of the kit to cover all my other lines and wires in chrome also with that im gonna be putting the last of my stainless fuel and brake lines on sand blasting front half of the frame the rest has already been done and painted engine is also getting shampoo and paint

i got my OE /Dutt neck IC used for $120.00 to my door and it was in PERFECT CONDITION. I have also seen others for the asking price of or below $175.00.
the point is if you pay $350.00 for a new one expect to take a 50% loss on it when you decide to sell it.
Some will flame you for going on "over kill" now when you can't make full use of said parts BUT in the long run the cost of your project will be a lot less since you most likely won't be buying parts twice and taking loses on selling used parts.
I MADE THE MISTAKE and listened to the "get what you need now then upgrade later" guys and i have been regretting it a lot lately.
now everything that i have to do over will be over kill so that hopefully i won't have to do it again a third time.
good luck.
