Hi. Im pretty much new here and i just want to pick everyones brain on the subject. I dont know about anyone elses concerns but why was it so easy to take over Iraq. Im not looking for some wise guy answers like "oh america is all powerfull and they are scared stupid". Even though theres a little bit of fighting still going on. It still seems like the calm before the storm and that something BAD is going to happen. I just dont want our boys to get hurt!

1. They has Kurds in the north and shiites in the south who have been fighting this regime the whole time.
2. Saddam was not able to rebuild his army after the last war.

More bad thing are gonna happen. There are already rumblings about Syria. I support the troops who are out there risking there lives, and I can't stand these post hippie anti war protesters, but I really do believe that operation "Iraqi Freedom" is not really about the Iraqi people. It's a nice slogan though.

Is the good ole' USA using it's credentials as the world's only superpower? Of course. Does the USA have the right to?
Why the hell not. This country is totally screwed up, but it's still the absolute best nation on earth.

Should we have gone into Iraq? Mabey yes and mabey no. I am just an average schmo who does not have all the info. But Saddam IS out of power, and the world will problably be a little better off for it. I did not vote for Bush, but am glad he won over Gore, the lesser of two evils. The guy who was the best choice never had a chance, and I am not speaking of Covair killer Nader.

1. Special ops and intelligence knew where to hit first to disrupt the I raqi Army.
2. This hampered the command and control and communication of the chain of command.
3. Air Force. If you own the skies you win the war.
4. An excellent tactical plan. Along with a backup plan when Turkey backed out.
5.Technology and speed of a well trained combat force.
6.The tactical moves of the Iraqi Army did not make any sense. ie..Instead of pulling the republican gaurd back into Baghdad, they chose to go out in the open and create a target rich environment.
7. We got that retard Geraldo out of there before he gave away any more future intelligence.

but I really do believe that operation "Iraqi Freedom" is not really about the Iraqi people. It's a nice slogan though.

I hope you do not have one of those movie star opinions that it is all about oil!! What do you believe the operation is about??

I did not vote for Bush, but am glad he won over Gore, the lesser of two evils.

Just imagine where we would be if the guy you voted for had won!!
