I spoke with him via PM about porting my GN1 heads.... I just can't come up with the money fast enough to get them done in time for races in May ....
 
If he does they will be badazz. No doubt.

Thank you for the numbers! Was that work you did yourself or done by a shop? And if by a shop, what was total cost in the heads? I think my buddy has near 4K with rockers included in a set of aluminum champion aluminum heads.
 
I use a local shop. Precision engine and machine. The econo port which included the bowl work and gasket match was $400. Then later down the road I went back for the runners, chambers and valve job and spent another $750 or so IIRC. Bang for the buck is in the bowl work!
 
Your exhaust flows more than most intakes do ...
I had TA do Level 2..possibly 3 porting and then had a guy local that used to do Stage engines for Ohio George back in the day do some more work on them. He just did some more cross sectional work and tweaks in some of the high speed flow areas.
 
Updated progress on first post. Things are moving along. Hope to get 200 cfm out of the head with a stock valve next week. We'll see.

Just some advice, so far it's ALL bowl work. Don't do any polishing, it's a waste of time.
Also when you're done, have a GOOD valve job done.
 
What is your valve to throat percentages?
Not familiar with that term but if you're asking size of throat in comparison to valve size, I would say the throat is about 90% - 95% the size of the stock valve. Next week I'll take pics and measurements. I need to maximize the port so I can replicate it and get my heads finished up.

Also plan on installing new bronze valve guides along with some new valves. Hope to hit 215 plus. We'll see, I'm optimistic.
 
That's the answer I was looking for. Not much room for error when your out that far. Mine are right at 91% and it doesn't leave much room for a 3 angle.
