Please read the title of each section since it gives you an idea of what questions will get the best info for. How to means "how I did it, fabrication means How I fabricated something, Engine means anything related to the mechanical parts of the engine, ect.;) There are stickys at the top of each section that can help you out as well so don't ignore them.:)

Oh yeah - I didn't realize we were in General Tech.
I simply look at "what's new"
I suppose this thread belonged in - The Lounge?...Or?

ill have to look at the codes on the cowl and trunk lid tomorrow. if it is a wh1 then im going to haggle with my mechanic on the price. if not then im reconsidering trading my 2010 nissan frontier with a couple dents and cigarette burns on the seat and the fact its a shitty jap truck with its problems. its worth about $18,000. and wanted to trade it in for 03 duramax and that buick t type regal. but after hearing from you knowledgeable folks, you probably have prevented me from making a mistake.

Paint or no paint, you have no idea of the history of that car. See if there's someone in the regional section that can give you a second opinion. That could be the rarest regal of them all and we wouldn't know from those pictures. Get someone knowledgeable on your side. Best .02 cents I can give you.

Insert "costly" mistake.
I'm sure the guys can also weigh in on the trade value of a Nissan Fronteir, a 03 Duramax and a Buick Regal.

Now I dunno bout the shitty jap part - and our Asian members might take offense - but you may consider fixing your dents, recovering your seat and being nice to your 2010 truck.
And oh - quit smoking - or learn how to smoke without burning your seat.
Or - quit letting those seeds into your ...ahem...cigarettes.

And those GM's ain't exactly BMW quality either.

That 1985 Buick Regal will do a lot of sitting and sucking up money.
If it's a Grand National you want,
Save up some money and keep hunting and buy the one that you can afford to play with - as a toy.

I'm no Kreskin, but as to history - I predict it was assembled in Flint in 1985. By GM. Now maybe it is one of those rare FBI Grand Nationals, and there is a bank robber's loot still stashed as evidence in the trunk wheel well. That would be..."rare"...:D

And listen.

If it is a WH1 - it really needs to be painted as one.
If all it gets is a coat of Lamp Black 19 - then it's a black 1985 Hot Air Regal.
But as long as it still belongs to your mechanic - let him torment himself as to what he wants to do with the paint scheme.
He's the poor sap who's into the car for $6500 plus plus plus.

LOL - yeah I get the feeling this mechanic friend ain't gonna take too kindly to all the advice the kid got tonight.
He thought he had a live one on the hook.
Specially if you go trotting up there with Dennis Kirban or someone, and tell him like it is.
"Hi - I'm Mike and I brought my friend / expert along to examine the car for a second opinion - Care for an autographed copy of his Turbo Regal book? :D
LOL - that'll be funny.
Not for him though prolly.

It's probably got a rare, Olds 302 V-8 with a KTF tranny and a set of 7.5"monte gears.
All underpinned by a 1975 Ford Galaxie 500 frame.
Other than that - all original.

I dunno bout all that.
I couldn't keep it straight.
All that horse trading going on.
Reminds me of that weird show on TV with those two guys who constantly trade up.
They start with a hot dog and end up with a 60 foot yacht.
Weird.

haha youre probably right. funny thing is when i looked at the paper in the car it said the purchase order from previous owner was a 1987 t type. registration was in there too but cant remember if it said 85 or 87

the value of my nissan when i bought was $28,000 in 2010. now its more like $18,000-$19,000. in a year or two how much more will it drop? and ive had repair shops not do proper work work on it, scratch paint around window like a madman, now its rust bubbling in couple spots, rust from other spots that werent fixed correctly around bumper, 1inch ride height difference from left to right due to leaf springs and shocks. ive taken it to the insurance approved repair facility over 4 times to get the work redone properly. now im on the fifth time to go in to get different work orders done again cause they really buggered it up. the truck is compromised. thats why at first im thinking in 5-7 years these two other vehicles will be worth more than that truck is.

im thinking in the end, this other route will be a better way to recuperate my money from the truck in the future

Tell your mechanic you will trade him your Nissan for the Buick(finished) and the Duramax and $8k...:D

LOL - you really know how to pick those "mechanics" don't you?
You think you might have learned from the last bunch.
They all sound like a bunch of winners.

You must be in Canada, or Alaska, or Greenland.

You think too hard.
Yeah - new vehicles depreciate.
Especially ones that have been in $15K worth of ice road trucker accidents.
I'll say.
Congrats kid.
Welcome to the real world.
As far as what's worth what in 5-7 years- please send me that crystal ball of yours - as I need to buy some lottery tickets.
And what's it matter to you - the polar ice caps are going to melt and completely cover Canada or Greenland anyway - so why worry? :D

And here is some food for thought.
If you were going to buy this Turbo Regal - it takes way more mechanical skills than the few things you tried to identify (which by the way - you rambled) that is wrong with your truck.
If you can't figure out what is wrong with your shocks or springs on your truck - do yourself a favor and stay away from Turbo Regals. Unless you have a trust fund.

Lastly - yeah yeah
Let me be clear
Again
The WH1 is a Buick; Regal; With the T Type package (RPO Y56) and WH1 paint package
It is a T - Type
Just with a special paint scheme.
Yes - Virginia - it is a T Ttype

I just re-read that.

I'm not even going to go back and look at your VIN tag to see what model year.
You're starting to hurt my head.
Pick a year and stick with your story.

They didn't make WH1s in 1987 so that blows that theory.
But in any event - if you determine it really is a Buick, and really is a Regal - and what year and model it is - get back to me and we can help.

Next you're going to tell us is is titled as a 1953 Studebaker but the grill says Buick.

i know what is wrong with the truck, the problem is the repair shops didnt do the repairs right the first 4 times after taking it back multiple times, new truck insurance pays and gets a repair shop. problem was it was a $15,000 repair job. cause it was new. other repair jobs were rear enders and window glass shop scratched all paint off around the front window on three sides. and i am mechanically good with vehicles as i drove a 74 vw beetle for 3 and half years a daily and worked on my 1981 750 a whole bunch.
