is my stall too loose?

i have a dayco non lock up 3000 stall.i put 28 x 9 slicks on and i can only run 103 mph.i ran a 12.88 with a 1.69 60ft.i had plenty of fuel press. and no knock.it will foot brake 3400.that run was with a 23 degree chip.i cant run any faster mph.the converter is the only thing i can think of.i put it in because i didnt have a d 5.is a d5 out of a caddy trans. the same as a tr?
 
Run! Throw that converter in the trash and ran as fast away from it as you can! That has to be the biggest piece of **** converter made. No offense.

I would like to know also!
If the converter is the same out of the Caddy D5 and theTR D5.
Anyone know?

no,it is not the same. and i agree with intercooler.those converters are absolute junk.im sure it was cheap.and you get what you pay for in my book.

oh,by the way jeese.i just put in a pat's converter from the info you gave me a while ago on them.it seems to be working great.

thanks,i got the converter on a trade.looks like i'll be getting a new converter.

What flavor did you get? I have the 10" with 11" clutch in mine (3700 stall). Did Steve explain to you the freshening charge and free stall change? I had mine restalled once. I plan on freshening every two years. He is doing a mirror copy of the 200 converter for my 400 swap. I should have it by Tuesday next week.
