I did a search because I thought I asked for this before but no luck... anyone know of a direct link where I dont have to download anything?

There is no direct link, but the chat room does exist, if you follow the instructions on the chat icon on the main page. The room is pretty slow though!

If you don't want to go off the web site you can log on from the mIRC program it's self. Small program and takes up almost no space or bandwidth.. Go to http://www.mirc.com/ Download and install the newest version mIRC 6.16 Then when you run it you'll have to put in some information to find us. File, Select Server, Connect, Options, and then Add all this info in there.

Description: IRC-Chat: Random server
IRC_Server: irc.irc-chat.net
Port(s): 6664-6669,7000,7001

The web site is the easy way to log on and chat. People come and go and we've had about 12 people tops so far! Stop in and hang around.. someone is bound to talk! :) Enjoy! :D

You can also check out

Buick Chat

Once the screen comes up type /join #buickgn

Normally around 7 to 10 people in there.

I've seen as many as 30 at one time.

It varies from time to time and day to day.

From around 19:30 EST is when people start to come in and varies from that point.

Some of the old users from years back are in there and new people also.

At times a busy place other times lurkers.

Hmm Strange I just tried it and it works from here and had a friend try it and it worked for him too.

Maybe it has to do with your browser as I am using Firefox.

For it to work with Internet Explorer you will need to install MIRC from the link in the previous post.

I just did that to confirm it.

IE would not work without MIRC installed on your computer.

If you need more help try this.

Just to get things clear, we're talking about two different chat rooms.

The chat room Philly is referring to is a new chat room, affiliated with turbobuicks.net. I haven't had the chance to go in this chat room yet, but having talked to Philly, I know this room is probably a quality chat room, although membership may be low because it's new.

As for the room AJ is referring to, this is the veteran chat room. The room and it's members have been around a LONG time. There have been java connections to the room, but the best way to join is by mIRC. There is usually people in there, but it depends on the day and time to determine how active the room actually is.

Good luck.

thanks for the comments Chris! We just figured most people blow their brains out trying to figure out mIRC and then trying get on the server and in the room! So this way you can go on our web site www.turbobuicks.net and click on the left where it says "Click here to chat" and your in via web based java :) We get some people popping in and out like any other mIRC chat room i've hung in. Prime time people are talking... 4am it's dead as a door matt :) More is better in the turbo buick world! :D

Try this it has a step by step instruction on how to setup mIRC.
http://www.t6p.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6716

If you have problems with the step by step then you can do the following.

If you have Firefox 1.0.04 latest version installed FIREFOX and mIRC or CHATZILLA installed you can click on this link Connect to IRC and the type in /join #BuickGN when mIRC opens.

These steps will not work with Internet Explorer!

There is no need to fill all the settings in mIRC if you have Firefox and mIRC installed.

Clicking on the link Connect to IRC will make things work... you will have to type /join #BuickGN to join the channel when the IRC screen opens.

From there if you have questions just ask once you are connected.
