Is this worth it?

I am able to get my hands on a brf transmission out of a 87 GN which shifts weak (slips). I can purchase it for $200. Is it worth it or should I pass? I do not need it, it will be an investment.

Check what the trans builders are asking as a core charge. My impression is in the $250-450 range, so you could save a little on a core charge if you got this one for $200 and then bought a built trans, but then you have to pay to ship the core to the builder ... At $200 it's not a bargain but not terribly overpriced, either.

Just make sure it has the correct valve body and the BRF tag on the outside of the trans.
200.00 and needing a rebuild is a good deal IMO
