Well the interior was getting a little worn-looking (after 21 years) in our shop project car and my brother’s car. Both cars are 87 GN’s ---1 is a hard-top and 1 is a t-top—AND his is more STOCK than our shop project “special GN” (as the shop students call-it). Leather or Cloth interior…. What to do???? My students and I have/had been to several car shows to show our car and one of their assignments was to “check the interior of other cars” while at the shows. Some of the students like the Stock-look of cloth and others like the Custom-look of leather. Some asked ”why didn’t they put leather in the 86-87 GN’s”…. I said “I don’t know—unless they had already done that with the Lear seats in the earlier GN’s and Buick wanted the 86-87’s to be a little different.”
So, we gave Jax seat Cover’s a call. Denise was GREAT!!!! Very knowledgeable and explained EVERYTING in details (original gray cloth is not readily available for rear seat and if anything happens to the leather it is a EASY replacement) So leather it is!!!!………well my students wanted SOMETHING a little different (I should have known). They asked “what about a embroidery Turbo 6 emblem”…..so we called Denise Again!!!! Again very helpful, Now… we have turbo 6 emblemS--- on the door panels rear quarter glass panels and in the black insert on the back seat.
Next problem, who will we get to install the new interior???? We checked around our area and it was “one excuse after another excuse” or the price was out-of-our price range. Problem solved….ROAD TRIP… to JAX seat covers. We loaded-up the 2 cars and off we go!!!!
Paul and Denise set-up 2 days for the install on both our cars (finished earlier—due to them not taking any other jobs during our install---can you say “customer service”. After the shop closed the 1st day Paul and Denise took us on a site-seeing tour of the area around Milwaukee, WI and then feed us!!!!!! Plus they picked-up and drop-off us off at our hotel (hard to get around in a truck and a 40ft. trailer….). The leather interior was installed…….SWEET!! (Bonus- leather smell!!) and dealing with Jax seat covers’ GREAT!!!!! CUSTOMER SERVICE---GREAT, second to NONE!!!!! If I had it to do over again, I would NOT change a thing!!!!!!!
THANKS AGAIN.........
