The death toll is now at 125.

We had a 1/2 mile EF2 strike nearby Sedalia yesterday. While not even in the same galaxy as the Joplin twister, it's a grim reminder of mother nature's power.

I talked to a friend who has friends in Joplin and they some damage, but their grandparents brick house is destroyed. Another friend said most in Joplin live on min wage so this just took everything they had.

In N. Vernor, IN, my son's GF's dad got up to let the dog out and seconds later a tree caved in the roof over the bed he just left. They are on disability and just had to replace the roof on their trailer a couple years ago due to a heavy wet overnight snowfall caved it in.

The weather channel said that storm was moving at 55 mph.


Earthquakes are looking better all the time. Knock on wood.

amazing what a swirl of wind will do. very sad. especially for those who cant even find their family members.

I think those underground pods should be mandatory for everyone who lives in any twister inhabited area and the government should pay for all of them. RIP

that video from the chopper was hard to believe. that damage is just staggering! its goes on and on and on..... nothing was sparred. everything was wiped out. nothing even salvageable. tornados are no f'en joke. wow

Now the city is saying the death toll is 142 but the state is saying 139. Either way it's still sad.
