i was reading some other posts about gnx. And there was one post that said all gnx started life as gns optioned the same. Is that true?

All of them were the same with almost every option available actually. Very few options left out. Like t-tops, block heater, etc...

While they 'started' out as GNs, they were actually tagged to become GNXs from the factory. The RPO code is T2L so Buick knew which ones rolling down the line were destined to become GNXs and they were all heavily optioned.

From the factory Yes, although it was not uncommon for dealers to mark them up to try and make an extra buck.

Funny thing is, to me, back in 1987, $30,000 then was like the $100,000 price tag of them today.
