I just purchased 2 Turbos from 1984 T-Type Buicks, and I am wondering, how is boost adjusted on these turbos, due to the internal wastegates?

I know with Turbos with external wastegates you adjust boost levels with a spring.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site!

Those turbo's should have a diaphragm operated waste gate with an adjustable rod. Non adjustable if it still has the factory hardware. If you do not have the outlet "bell" with the swing arm and waste gate diaphragm you'll need to get one for each turbo or purchase an aftermarket piece. When you get those items, the boost is increased by shortening or decreased by lengthening the waste gate diaphragm rod.

Well done Turbo!

Lightning - shortening the rod increases boost because the WG flaper cant bypass as much gas and of course lengthening it opens the flapper more hence lowering boost and then you have a slow Buick.

Well they are not going on a BUick, I am putting 2 turbos on my 1994 Ford Lightning. I am just trying to learn as much as I can before I put them on.

Thanks for the help so far.
