If you don't want to reply don't, but please vote in the poll.

Maybe some are making money right now! Buy Buy Buy :)

Its funny but I have to BUY now just to help sustain what I lost in the end it will probably be a wash. I am glad I have a ways to go to retire.

I'll be working until I'm 70 anyway so I got some time to recover.

We've lost enough this past year to buy a Bentley. Still gonna retire in 4 yrs whether I'm worth a dollar, a thou, or a mill. Wife has already come to grips with a likely "different" lifestyle than what was planned. Golden years? Naw, brass maybe...

stock market

In 2000 I made a pack not to trust the stock market after a loss. I instead invested in realestate and done very well

I'm just like all the rest of you..

we lost ALOT in our 401's, probably 20%. and less than 10% in other investments.
but ,,, we did buy another house, ( makes 4 now)
3 are rentals, we live in newest one, lastest one we bought for $290k, (forclosure) sold 2 yrs ago for $650K,
so yes , real estate is my best method for now.
I'm 60 so need something to offset the loss.
we both have well paying jobs, so am able to have disposable income.( buick money)
I hope for the best for all of us,

Yep,
Just made a (low-ball) offer on a rental property the other day. Did'nt get it. That's OK:) .
Word is "If you like the price now, you'll like it even better next year" ;) . For you guys that don't think that you can afford to buy a house, you may be closer then you think.

Do your homework.
All that glitters isn't gold.
Have patience.

I'm too broke to have a 401K, so I am going to camp out in JOHNDEEREGN's back yard when I retire.

I have had $700 bucks in an IRA for about 10yrs or more now. After paying them their fee for 10yrs and not adding to it, I lost money:biggrin: BTW that original $700 is like $400 now:frown:

I will keep buying cars, at least I can control a little better what happens to them... I ain't giving them no more control of my money than I have too, damn the stock market:wink:

I'm down 34%,I'm in the same boat as the other gentlemen I am throwing more money at it to hopefully offset my losses.

My 410K dove 40%. I figure it'll bounce back seeing as it's backed by a lot of rubber checks.

I have lost between 12-15% just in the past 6 months. Gold investments are still OK, but taking a beating everywhere else.

My IRA guy just took my backyard Gary:p
Ok, So when you go out of your front door in the early AM, please don't kick the bag of trash on the front porch. That'll be me curled up in a sleeping bag.
Don't sic the family dog on me either, I haven't had my rabies shots yet.

I've lost over 50%, and have been putting a good amount of money in there for over 13 years. So, needless to say, its a bunch of money. I've got another 30 years, so I'm not going to sweat it now. I've got a good chunk of cash in the bank also. Wish I had time to day trade. I'd be doing a lot of short selling. The 1% return on my savings account is looking pretty good right now. Glad I haven't had time to invest that too!
