This is really annoying.
I could not use a serial port connection because my laptop (Toshiba) has none. So I go out and buy a serial to USB adapter, installed it, but when I connect it to the car TLink cannot make a connection. I went into my Windows Device Manager, and it says the USB is on Com Port 5  , but TLink only offers to connect to ports 1-4.

My car has been out for three weeks, and I have not been able to hook up yet:mad:

Open the properties for the serial port in the Device Manager. You can change it to a lower number. Check to see what com port your internal modem is on and set you USB serial port to ANYTHING but that com port. Windows will complain at you but just go ahead and change it. Then you should be able to use T-link. Keep in mind however that all USB-to-serial converters are not ceated equal. E-mail me if you need specific instruction.

Call Accelerate Technology and they will talk you through whatever you need to do:

You can download the newest version of the code from the web site (http://www.turbo-link.com)

BE SURE TO UNINSTALL ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF TURBOLINK

4.0 allows more COM port selections.

As stated above, you can then reconfigure to any open one. These darn USB adapters (especially Belkin, for some reason) seem to be picky about configurations ...

Also, the best method is to contact us directly so we can help you trouble shoot your configuration ... I don't always get a chance to check this board every day.

Woohoo it works! I was able to change the COM setting in the "properties" Thanks for the help.
