Next project in the house is redoing the kitchen. Anyone here ever do a tile countertop. Have done plenty of ceramic tile work but never a countertop. Guess my real question is, those of you that have a tile counter, do you like it? Pain in the butt to keep clean?

Granite is out of the question, $$$$$-wise and Corian isn't quite a bargain either. Don't really want to go the laminate route so figured tile would be a good compromise.

All I can say is NEVER A TILE COUNTER<NEVER...
I have seen on the home shows ,someone did a concrete counter like 3in thick, thing looked awesome..do a search on the net

Hate to say it but the laminate route was low money, easy install & keeps clean.

My mom had to have her italian tile ripped out as it scratched & cracked. Of course she had it done in 81 so tile today may have come along way in durabilaty

Ive got Corian tops in my Kitchen and Bathroom, But my family owns a custom Kitchen and cabinet shop so i got a freebie:D
