Knock while revving

OK my 87 has knock if I rev it a bit sitting still... But no knock driving @26psi any ideas it kinda scares me a Lil

Check the torque on the knock sensor and how are your motor mounts? Is the DP hitting the control arm?

Just noticed my swap does the same thing. Only thing that's changed is a new (Julio) Alky pump...

Get a heater hose that's a couple of feet long and listen through it. Might help find the source.

Double check the torque converter bolts.

Mine makes noise like that when not under load. Take the cap off and see if there is any play. Try the hose method mentioned too. If it is the cam sensor but it works fine, not much you can do or need to but at least you'll know where the noise is located. I've seen many a noisy cam sensor but nothing to worry about if that is it. I'd pin the tab with the rjc cam sensor fix if you do pull it out though. Good precaution if you do lean on your car a bit.

I can understand you seeing knock when not under load Matt since your car has a 5 disk LU converter?

Have experienced that situation on customer's cars with that Vig converter.

I misread. I thought he just had noise. I'm not seeing kr but my cam sensor is noisy, especially when cold. I've had very good luck with my vig unlike some others. My flex plate still isn't pink yet.

Its non lock up converter from Dave Husek
