Leaking wastegate

I have an atr downpipe on my TTA. The old atr gate was sticking, so I ordered a new precision pw39 gate. I bolted it in, but now I can feel a leak from the area where the valve side of the gate meets the dp. What can I do to seal it up?

Machine the sealing surface. Maybe cut the flange off and have it resurfaced and weld it back on?

Its strange though, the old atr gate didn't leak, it just didn't work
