The tinted lens were way too dark for the stock tail light bulbs. But with the LED kit, the light appears to be equivalent. Here's the before pictures with the stock lens and bulbs.

Looks legal to me. Can you take that tint off if you wanted them red again How long did the LED part take you? The LED lights are growing on me. However, I'm too lazy to put that much money and effort into something that won't make the car faster.Speed Junkie! Is it that you guys don't like the stock taillights? Tinting them seems to be too much black for my taste. I like the bright amber lights in the front, crystal clear headlights and the clear reverse lamps with blazing red taillights. Guess I'm a bit too traditional.

I like the look of both the stock and the black. I bought a set of tinted tailights but they were broken when they arrived. When I get my car running correctly I will get another set

I don't know where in SC you are but I know the cops and judges in greer are assholes about tinted lights. I got pulled once in a tbird and my friend got a pretty nice fine for one. As the judge told him "I WANT TO SEE RED"

I will definately be keeping my fingers crossed. I expect there's a good chance of getting pulled at some point. I plan to keep copies of the before and after pictures with me along with info on the LED kit so hopefully an open minded officer will understand there is still the same amount of light being emitted.

The tint is not revovable, they are tint painted. I kept the stock set just in case.

Installation is not very bad. Installing the LED boards inside the housings took about 2 hours from start to finish being slow and cautious. The wiring took about another hour. The instructions call for pulling all the like colored wires together and connectng them all at one place on the factory harness. I preferred making more single splices at the stock sockets using heat shrink tubing.

Oh, and add approx. 1 hour to find the rear turn signal flasher:) Tip; located tucked way up high between the steering column and the lower dash or in that general area. Remove the small panel that has the lower AC vent below the steering wheel to access it easier. Now I know why my bother could never get the turn signals to flash correctly. He was changing the wrong flasher.

I love the tinted lens all the way around! The LED are really cool but like mentioned....expensive. Is the LED adjustable? Meaning can you change the sequential part? I've seen kits that light differently then others. Where did you get the tinted lens?

yes, the LED can be switched from normal to sequential signals. Got these from TR Customs. The tinted lens I on e-bay.

Awesome. The tinted rears tails and tinted front parking lights are next on my exterior upgrade list... You cars looking great!!!

I have the same setup....blacked out tails with LEDs. I love em. They look killer. No hassles from the po-po here...so far.

Still looking...... someone has to have some hidden away somewhere.

I tinted mine my self with the VHT tint paint you can get almost anywhere, think i got mine at farm and fleet. i put 3 coats on mine and they look just as dark but yes with my stock bulbs they are hard to see in day light

Your garage looks killer and I hate that you have a lift:smuggrin:. Love the GN emblem on it too. I am not a fan of the all blacked out look either but your car pulls it off pretty well. Like the clean bumper look and your paint looks good. Fiberglass trunk (looks like you are missing the lower trim)? You do HAVE to get some kind of tinted license plate cover though to complete it.

Also anyone on the fence about the LED tails, just do it. One of the best things I did to my car. I was passing my brother-in-law the other day and later he told me "man your lights looked awesome when you were passing me". They even make the car look better looking through the taillights when they are off.
