where I live now, if you're caught engaging in anything that could even be perceived as street racing the police automatically impound your vehicle and take you to jail immediately. zero tolerance.![]()
as a side note, when I think about some of the stupid stunts I pulled while street racing "back in the day", I just shake my head.

1. You raced when traffic was clear.
2. You Knew your (and your cars) limitations.
3. You were aware that others could be entering roadway in front of you.
4. You raced up to the point where you knew that you won or lost. If you lost, maybe you'd do it again but you didn't keep racing until the governor kicked in.

Add in the weekly (sometimes daily) news coverage of street racers crashing and killing themselves or killing a nice family and that's enough reason for me not to race--to worried about what the other guy is going to do!
