I was at my parents Sunday and got all kinds of stuff down from the attic. Old toys etc from when I was a kid to give my son.

Atari 2600 & games
Evel Knieval action figure and motorcycle
Star Wars stuff
GI Joe
Shogun Warrior
REAL Tonka trucks, metal and deadly
tons of cars/trucks (they look like antiques now), die cast, stamped metal etc. TOUGH STUFF!
HO scale train set
some pushbutton programmable corvette, forget the name. Uses about 100 batteries.

My 4 y/o and I had a blast opening it all up last night. I hardly threw out any toys when I was a kid (that weren't broken) so I could save them up for this very time. I'm so glad I did that.

This will make you feel old:
Went to Radio Shack to get the converter switch box to hook the Atari to the TV. Found one but they now have a SINGLE Atari joystick (no console) that is pre-programmed with 10 of the games on it. You hook the joystick to the TV and there you go. Couldn't believe it.

What would you like to have back from when you were a kid?

I would like to have back the corvette (power wheels) i had in 1970. that thing used a car battery. I was 3.

How about Col. Steve Austin? The kind that you can look thru his eye. Yup, 6 million dollar man. Reality TV gives that away in a season.

edit....

And a rotory phone! LOL;)

My girlfriend and I were just talking yesterday about some of the Saturday morning cartoons from when we were kids. (Yes, young guys... cartoons were only on Sat. Mornings)
I brought up "Land of the Lost" You know, Marshall, Will and Holly, and the Sleestaks. Anyway, I decided to check out EBAY and sure enough some guy was selling all 43 episodes on 2 DVDs for $15.00. I think Im gonna get it. :)

I have the six million dollar man doll and the evil knievel doll both played with not mint also I have Digital Derby mint it was one of my favorite games and Quick Change Machine (a blazer that turns into a race car) Only thing I dont have is Head to Head Baseball but I will get that soon - I do have the original 2XL in the box with the 8 Tracks though Alot of my matchbox cars got real beat up but I have a few that are in the original boxes unopened :) Something also tells me that Cal Ripken's rookie card may be worth something too someday and Shaq's but I will hold on to them boy do I sound old (Im going to be 33 next thursday)
I also found a Knight Rider Radio in my closet ! I would like to get all the Knight Rider episodes on DVD, but I dont think I would leave the house for a few days - almost like Smokey and the Bandit when I had my Trans Am

Land of the Lost. That's one that I forgot about.

Anyone remember the movie "Convoy" hey rubber ducky, got your ears on good buddy? I need this movie!!!!!

geez, you young pups and your new-fangled "old" toys! ;)

Anyone remember the "crashmobile"? put all the fenders, doors, tires, hood, and everything else on, wind up the rubber-band motor, and let it fly! ---soon as it hit a wall or mom's kitchen cupboards, the thing would literally explode! Then you'd put it back together and do it again!

The "Play-mobile"? This was just like a downsized plastic dashboard out of a '59 Oldsmobile! Had a working key switch, steering wheel, column shifter, working turn-signals, radio, glovebox, wipers, everything!

In 5th grade (1965) I got a remote-control car--it was red, resembled a cadillac, and was HUGE! It'd barely fit thru the doors! Everybody back then got 'em! They were connected by wire to the remote, and would only go "walk" speed, but they were cool as hell!

Transistor radios! in AM! with an earphone and everything!

Talking Beany & Cecil stuffed animals ("I'm comin' Beany-boy!") --girls had "Chatty Cathy"...

And there was crap then you can still get if you look hard: Wheel-o's, musical spoons, gyroscopes, and the cheap harmonica, didn't EVERYONE get a cheap harmonica??

:D

Hey?!?

What's wrong with rotary phones?

I still use one. :)

Original GI Joes are worth some money, still got mine in good shape I think.....

First year of the Hot Wheels cars, probably worth a small fortune now. Had a ton of the early Matchbox cars when they were made by Lesney of England, yes England!

Anyone ever have a Mold Master? Think it was made by Kenner. This tower heater melted plastic to a nice skin scorching temperature and you put two halves of a mold into it and pushed down on the plunger and filled it with the plastic. You then broke the mold apart and made cars/ trucks with it. Lots of burn blisters from it but oh what fun! You could remelt the plastic and make new cars with it. Talk about lawsuits today if this product was out there.

Just did a search on ebay and they actually had 3 of them on there. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3156485602&category=30
And I guess I shouldn't have responded to this thread as I was more of a kid of the 50's/60's. Can't believe that mold master thing was made in 1963!

Mighty Mo
Big Jim camping set
Mattel football game
Atari 400
Richochet Racers

LOL, gave my son the cheap harmonica for his b-day, and the metal cowboy 6 shooters. Can't beat that. :D
I had that crash 'm up car too. Wish I could find that now. There are similar things, but they don't blow up to pieces like those things did.
I've got the head to head Coleco football, works just fine. However, I've seen those exact Coleco games at Radio Shack and Walmart recently (today). EXACTLY the same. Flashing red blip of light QB and all.

Funny how the original Mario type games (Donkey Kong, Mario Bros) are on the Atari from 20 years ago and Nintendo is still basing so many games on that.

Some of my haul:

You all know this one

Stuff!

I gave him 2 boxes of Hot Wheels/Matchbox cars. Kept a couple for my desk. ;)

Don't have the Big Jim anymore, but I have a couple of things from that here, a campfire and pots/pans for "camping out".

Painful Death...
Crushed by the Wheels...

That is great! I didn't know that was a real toy. Have you seen Jingle All the Way? Christmas movie. Sinbad's charector blames not getting a Johnny 7 OMA for not being successful in life.

Thats a trip Bill, I dont have anything now, and I had them all. Even the vibrating football field game that you could "program" your players to run routes by turning the little wheel. LOL, what the hell was that called?
