What were those cars that had the toothed "rip cord" that you threaded into the roof of the car that spun a wheel directly in the center of the car when the rip cord was yanked back out? I had a couple as a kid (one even had something that shot sparks out as the center wheel spun) but cant recal what they were called.

I cant recal the name of this either but it was a motorcycle that you fitted into a "stand" that had a crank on the side. You would crank the handle like no tomorrow and when you stopped the motorcycle would take off at mach ~2. There was an Evil Kinevel(sp?) one too but it was more expensive so I never had one of those.

Atari 2600... Yeesh, I wore out countless joy sticks. I mastered just about all the games but my grandma would slaughter me every time in "River Raid" :o .

Grew up on Sat morn cartoons too.. Land of the Lost, Croft Super Show, Super Friends, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Space Ghost, etc... Ahhh, to be a kid again!!

Damn, I know zacly the game you are talkin about, but I cannot remember the name.

Yeah whoever came up with that rattling thing, was a freaking GENIUS. I think every kid around begged for it until it showed up under the tree. LMAO, what a rip!

I remember those cars with the single tire and rip strip with teeth. I remember getting friction burned by that tire many times. What the heck were those things called?

Thats a trip Bill, I dont have anything now, and I had them all. Even the vibrating football field game that you could "program" your players to run routes by turning the little wheel. LOL, what the hell was that called?

I think the official name was "Loud Noisy MF'r"

Here you go guys, still for sale:

Tempting, isn't it?
Don't see the 6 Mill $ Man, I think he eventually fell apart. I had the rocket ship/hospital too??? The rip cord cars usually ran out of rip cord when the teeth fell out. I've got a motorcycle here, but it's a small one.

EDIT: football: looks like some are pretty serious about it still

Star Wars stuff (I was getting a little older (11)when this stuff got hot
Metal lunch boxes
Atari (PONG)

I had a bike with real shocks on the front and rear (coil overs!) plastic motorcycle gas tank, etc. Must've weighed 60 lbs!! Made for nice landings off of rickety plywood ramps, though!!

Metal lunch boxes!!! Now there's a blast from the past. I had a... now don't laugh...

Bee Gee's lunch box and thermous.

hmm......

I think they were called SST racers or something like that........

Yes, Foolis....I had one of those....had a grenade launcher, and a 45 automatic pistol disconnected from the rifle.

In 1966, my first metal lunch box was a "Beatles"...probably would be worth a kerjillion bucks now.

Major Matt Mason
Hot Wheels orange race tracks...cars would never make the curves like they did on TV
Hot Wheels "Sizzlers"
Photo Electric Football
Off course the robot who's chest opened up with firing machine guns.
Lost in Space robot
Army men, army men and more army men
Cap guns...you know, the caps came in red rolls and only about 1 in 10 fired.

Yes...Yes it was:D You guys obviously have the intellect to keep this subject covered. Ahh the days I passed the time with my "Loud Noisy MF'r" game. The good ol days! Nice link btw, I think I will place an order:)

Is there a record of anyone ever completing a pass with the little felt football? Once, again, that was a game that never worked like the TV commercial. On the commercial, players would be in regular football formation, when everyone knew, the ultimate formation was the 4 -3-2-1-1. Kinda a reverse pyramid steamroller:D

Of course little green plastic army men!

I spent countless hours as a boy playing army and throwing rocks to knock them over.

Too much fun!

I had a handheld drag racing game called Redline. You could select the class you wanted to run, the tree would drop and you shifted through the gears with your thumb! It would give a digital display of ET and MPH, it was loud too!

Stomper-Stomper 4X4

A double A batt and long hair on you brother/sister = a seriously pissed of set of parents.

Got 3 of 'em. One in that pic, the red semi. Light comes on but it won't go. :(

I went nuts over stompers!! I even had the grandaddy (IMO) of them all. The semi truck stomper :D . Didnt that thing take two or three AA batteries?

Oh, wanna see PO'd parental units? Get a stomper tangled in the family dogs hair!!! Yeeesh, I never got a worse hind end beating than that one  .

Glad to see someone finally mentioned stompers in here! Can't forget the rough riders while you are at it... there was quite the stompers vs. rough riders rivalry among the boys in my school.

It was kinda fun watching my nephews play with my old Star Wars stuff from my youth, I will admit.

Would anyone care to guess how much my Pete Rose baseball cards are worth? I have no idea but it's gotta be something...

favorite old toys

"ROCK EM SOCK EM ROBOTS" . :D , & 1/32 scale slot cars. i remember my sister & cousin had "EASY BAKE OVENS"

Hey Bill, I had that racing game Redline, that was a cool game back then; maybe even so now! Sure wish I could duplicate those reaction times:) Anyone have the stretch armstrong guy? What about the GI Joe with the fuzzy hair and the space capsule? Anyone's sister have the Holly Hobbie bake oven that made real cakes and the hot pan that burnt the hell out of ya when it was pulled out? Ahhh, the metal roller skates that sparked when your buddy pulled you with his Schwin (sp) BMX bike that had Tuff Wheel II's and reflectors that mom told you had to stay on! Funny thing is we NEVER rode with helmets or pads and we rode HARD! I'm not too screwed up from all the times I crashed and smashed open my head jumping ramps that were WAY TOO STEEP. Don't forget vinal 45's and 8 track tapes.

I wish I could find my old slot car tracks. Had one that was slotLESS for lane changing fun too, but they weren't as fast. Even the Gen. Lee. Can't find them.
I've got the metal road skates here. The ones that clamp down on your shoes and never fit quite right to stay on. They still roll the same: very poorly. Those things are *indestructible*. They should have made cars, but they'd put body shops out of business. :D

For those who grew up in the NYC area.....

In the late 70s channel 11 (WPIX) had some kind of crude, interactive video game. Kids would call in and yell "PIX!!!" into
the phone to control the ball. If I remember correctly, it was on about 3:30pm, after "The Magic Garden".
