Hey Guys,
I installed a line lock a couple of days ago. Everything works fine except one small thing. If I press the brake peddle SOFTLY and hit the switch on the line lock works and if I release the switch it lets go and starts to roll.

The problem is if I smah the brake peddle HARD and hit the switch it works fine , but when i go to release the switch to release it. The brakes won't release. I have to tap the brake peddle a couple of time and then it release. WTF!!!!

Any ideas????

Thanks in advance

Chris, how did you install the LL? Did you do it NHRA approved way of a 'T' coming off one of the front brake line ports on the prop valve and the other blocked at the prop valve....or did you just do it at the m/cyl? Do you have a PM set up or Vacuum system? Where is the LL solenoid mounted? Where did you ground the solenoid to the car? Are you switching the 'power' circuit or the 'ground' circuit with the button?
Jim

JIm,
I T'd the line lock in the front brake line coming off the master cylinder. So it's between the master cylinder and the por. valve. Im not running the por. valve. I took it out. Im still running the PM unit. Yes, I grounded the soleniod to the car( under the dash). I believe that im switching power circuit off the switch.

Thanks

Double check to make sure the lines are flowing in the correct direction. If they are backwards then the extra line pressure will try to keep the plunger sealed..

ks:confused:

I have the exact same line lock problem as Chris. Just following up to see what I missed also. I installed mine after the prop valve as shown in a picture on this site (the link no longer works, or I would post it). I am switching the power lead, but I may not have a good ground setup, so I can check for that. Any other ideas?

I am still having the unlock problem. I still have to hit the brake pedal and can not roll out of the burnout. The LL is a Moroso, I am switching the power lead, and I relocated the ground to the bolt on the prop valve connected to the frame. I have the stock powermaster system and the LL is after the prop valve, and installed correctly according to some pics I used, and the instructions on gnttype. Any ideas?

My moroso does the same thing. I have it installed before the proportioning valve. I have just gotten used to tapping the brakes to release the lock. I usually hit the switch and then release it once the tires are spinning and then tap the brake to release the car.

Is there a directional flow arrow on the line lock solenoid?

If backwards it might jam the piston a bit?

Just guessing here never seen one myself up close.

My alky. solenoid wouldn't work installed backwards and of course had no arrow on it.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'm glad to hear that my setup is not the only one doing this. I will have to get the Hurst LL for the GN. I'm not able to roll out of the burnout when tapping the brakes since I have the stronger wheel cylinders. It just stops the burnout with a light tap and I know that's hard on the drivetrain. I will check to see if there is a direction of flow on the LL and repost.

If you are having a problem with the Moroso Roll control, Please give me a call @ 203-453-6571 ext. 342 or my email at Moroso its "fredc@moroso.com".

Make sure your have the roll control plumbed the right way. It is directional.

Give me a shout, we want happy customers

Thanks Fred. I will check the plumbing and contact you if I think it is set up right. Otherwise I will fix it and post the results. I did follow the instructions and the pics posted in a thread on this board, but we'll see what happens. Tim

Fred. I had a look at my setup. From the top front on the prop valve, a line comes out there to the top of the LL. Then out the bottom of the LL (labeled in black print-Brake) comes a line to a T, connected to both front brake lines. The bottom front of the prop valve has the plug in it. Tim

Is the roll control still sticking on you ?
I have not changed anything on the car. Yes, it still sticks and I need to tap the brake. I don't have my instructions here anymore, but out of the bottom of the LL, labeled brake, it goes to the front brakes using the T connector.

Sully,

Give me call @ 203-453-6571 ext 342 or email me at "fredc@moroso.com".

We’ll take care of it.

Does anyone have an update on their line lock not unlocking with the swith? Fred at Morroso promptly sent me a new line lock that I just installed, and I'm having the same unlock (need to tap the brake) problem as before. From discussing the setup and researching, I have been told my setup is correct. I'd sure like to roll out of a burnout.

As far as I know, all the morosos you have to tap the brake..... but you can do it during the burnout to roll out of it.. I do. The Hurst Roll control does not do this.. it releases as soon as you let off the switch.

I have installed 2 Moroso units and neither of them suffered from the symptoms here. Both were before the prop valve. Now one ...on my car uses no prop valve, still works fine.
