I used to have Win mix but I believe they're off of the internet now, and thank goodness.

Seemed like when you down loaded a song from there it was hit or miss...it might be excellent sound quality or it could be poor quality.

On top of that my computer received so many virus and spyware it wasn't funny.

I was for awhile using walmart.com and downloading songs for $.88. They were of good sound quality, the only problem is walmart doesn't have a huge music down load selection.

So I'm looking for a web site that has music to down load, that has excellent sound quality and won't fill my computer with every virus known.

If you know of one please post it.

Thanks!

Sounds like limewire has the capability to pass viruses? What about i tunes?

itunes is owned by Apple, you wont be getting a virus or junk files from them.

I use Amazon.com's mp3 download site. Songs are anywhere from .10 to .99 cents and whole albums can be as cheap as $5.00. I get quality every time and if there is an issue with the file, I get my money back and they fix the file. Cant say that when downloading pirated music. I dont care if people do but I was getting tired of all the files I download being named wrong or the bitrate was like 56k which is horrible. With Amazon, they tell you what the bitrate of the files are before you even buy it. I guess since I am older I just pay for quality instead of taking my chances for free.

And, just run it on a junk computer with a usb drive attached to it. Keep the AVG up to date and you will have few problems. I have one machine at my house dedicated for downloading. I can remote in from anywhere and check the status and even surf when I'm behind certain firewalls.

Use the usb drive as a mule between computers and perform a scan of the drive after downloading. Very seldom do I get junk on it.

Hmm, I've run Limewire for several years and never had a problem... But then again, I stick strictly to music (only MP3's), no EXE's and such. If I can't find it on Limewire, I'll pay :( on Amazon.com ($0.99 per song) and they have a good selection.
