Recently purchased a short block. Guy I got it off of didn't really know a whole lot about it so I'm trying to figure out what all I'm working with. Its all together and looks like it's in good shape to run so I'd like to pull apart the least that I can. The rods are Manley/weber rods and all the pieces(block, caps, etc.) Have a four digit number scribed on them. I can see on the front of the crank W.R.E. scribed into it. I'm assuming that means weber racing engines built it?? The pistons have no markings on them, wondering if anyone can identify whose pistons they are. Only have a couple pics on my phone, the one piston looks like it may have lost an electrode at some point in life and that's the picture I have. Any input is appreciated.

It's a stock block 4.1 built by Webber. It appears to have a Chinese made forged crank. It could be a stroker, you can check the forward counterweight for info. Early on before there was an affordable stroker crank available WRE used to offset grind the stock stroke cranks. If that's the case the crank will have 2.100" dia. rod journals. The 4 digit # should be a job #. Depending on how good their bookkeeping is they should be able to answer any questions.
