Hello all. I found what looks to be a GN, but also shows signs that it could be nothing but a clone. Can anyone here confirm if this car is a clone or the real thing? The VIN is 1G4GJ1170HP439663. Thanks for any help.

I tried to post a link to where it's at for sale, but it has to be approved first. Any how one thing that's throwing me off on the car is I've never seen a GN that didn't have power locks and windows. But then again I don't know a lot about the cars.

plock and power windows wasnt std equipment , they were an option ,,, so yes there are gns out there without them
just as there are gns out there without ttops, cruise , tilt ,rear defog , dome read lamp, visor lamp , right remote mirror , deck release, radio power antenna , twilight sentinal , security , ...even the posi rear was an option up until the final extended run from sept 87 to dec 87

non negotiable standard items that couldnt be deleted were bucketseat w/console, power steering , chrome steel wheels and deck spoiler and air conditioning

look in trunk for the WE2 code on the rpo sticker and see that the sticker vin matches the dash vin # , thats the one way to confirm GN option and the cowl tag on dsh top under the hood will also have the AR9( (bucket) 152 seat trim and the 19U 19l black paint code

Ahh ok, I knew the t-tops was a option but didn't know that power locks and windows were a option. I knew I could find the info needed here. Thanks guys, now hopefully I can make a deal with this dealer and get in it.

Wait a minute. You said the car was 90 miles away and you wouldn't be able to look at the trunk label to verify its authenticity??? Please don't tell me that as a newbie you're actually looking at buying one these site unseen??????

Go see the car..first off open the trunk check the RPO sticker.. it needs to say WE2 for grand national then make sure vin on dash and rpo sticker vin match. then make sure she has a 8.5 rear end..also the driver door should have tire loading info and vin also the SPID tag on firewall just under the driver side wiper arm needs to show w11 and the color code 19u 19l which is for black.. Dealers suck man watch out for con artist you can find a good deal on here

i cant read it too well either but my program states it is a 1987 Regal Grand National
but as stated above u need to look a the trunk label if poss.

90 miles away and you haven't went to see it in person. I drove from central Indiana to southeast Missouri to check mine out. I also had the guy sent me pics of the rpo tag, lower doors and other areas. 90 miles isn't that far. Go check it out in person.

maybe beating a dead horse here, but i drove from yorktown, tx to canfield, oh for mine. Best 10 fill-ups of my life!

I see your in Jacksonville and you said the car was 90 Miles from you. I was wondering which direction. I"m in Panama City, FL and if it's somewhere west of you I'll meet up with you and we can go look at the car. Just an offer... There may be a forum member close by that can go check it out with you as well. It's always better to have more than one set of eyes. Just a thought.

Now that's brotherhood!
