Looks good, is it faster?

Been dickin around last few wks trying find what could be perfect replacement front bumper (after new paint of course). After few combinations I gave up & now proud owner of GBody fiberglass bumper mounted on alum inner support (whatever they call that monstrosity) & alum
mounts (in place of pistons). (I know Lou, don't dare tap into anything).
New side filler panels also. A real B---- to get the fiberglass fit properly over the support, kinda line up/modify bolt holes & line up everything else. Friend did the prep & paint, new bumper protector strip, no lic. plate bolt holes & omitted those ugly bumperettes. Dammm it looks good! Must've lost about 50lbs also, front sits a skosh higher.
Wonder if it'll run any quicker

Absolutely worthless thread without pictures!!!

I have considered going fiberglass to lighten up the front a bit, but of course the bumper would probably sit in my garage with the fiberglass fillers I have had for nearly two years...

EDIT: Was joking of course about the worthless comment, just really interested to see it. :biggrin:

You actually installed the full aluminum re-enforcement bar? It can be done just a tight fit. I'm guessing you did remove the fiberglass brackets that held the bumper to the bumper shock? If you didn't & Got it in place, I'm impressed!
I'm guessing you installed the Bumper impact strip as well.

Humm, I wondered about that as those fiberglass brackets are a tad deeper than the area they fit behind (in the alum support), & the entire unit has to messaged together. I thought cutting brackets would weaken the rest & make bumper wavey or sumthin. But, as I cussed & bolted it together (once mounted on car) I see it makes a tight package. Still though I think leaving those brackets as-is keeps all more secure as there are no upper fasteners. IMO looks better than stock.
Hay Squid, no offense taken. I'm kinda dinosaurish & little lazy 'bout some things...now if I had some good booty alongside it I'd share!
