I noticed that I am loosing coolant, but I can't tell from where. don't have any tell tell signs like a puddle undernieth the GN. where else do I look at? GN don't smell like coolant and doesn't smoke.

check to see if your oil look like a milkshake and also feel.passenger floorboard for wetness

Also.check around head best you can for signs of it leaking out the side-lifted head

There is no coolant coming in. And oil is fine. I will check around the heads.

Do a cooling system pressure test & compression test....HG ...or coolant to intake leak possible.

Some HG failures will only leak under boost and it will only be enough to notice the loss in the reservoir. Check for excessive moisture on the breathers, PCV and oil fill neck. If you find evidence of oil water mix on any of them it is HG replacement time. You may be able to see some on the valley pan through the PCV hole with a flash light.

I will check after the holiday, as GN is parked for the winter. If it was leaking into oil, I should see brown foam on top of heads in rocker arm area. Under the valve covers, but there is no sign of that happening.

When mine did it I only found a trace of moisture on the breather, when i pulled the intake the entire underside was caked with brown sludge.

But I haven't noticed any moisture on breather. But I will double cjeck.

Warm the motor up and then check it cold the next day. It is not much, use a paper towel to blot with you will notice the water compared to oil drops on the paper towel.

Was losing a quart of water per run since about late August. Pulled the engine back in October and found a cracked cylinder...and a very clean piston.:D

I don't think motor is hurtt as I don't drive it very much. It has turned into a garage queen.

They make a kit that attaches to the radiator to check for head gasket leaks, this is a normal thing if you have an older Cadillac with a Northstar engine as they are known for head bolts pulling out! I have a 1998 Cadillac Concous with 60,000 miles that was my 85 year old Aunts car, Ya know the story re no one ever sat in the back seat and the car is spotless! Well I know this is true for mine. BUT the engine could be a headache so I'm very mindful of head gaskets and how to check. If they have one they have pages of articles on the Cadillac forums.com re the kits.

If you did not have a mishap under boost you are probably good on the HG. My heater core started leaking a few years ago, the passenger side floor carpet soaked with fluid. ?

If it's not dripping out from somewhere, it's going in.

Let me ask this? has the car overheated yet due to low coolant?

When my heater core went it fogged inside the windshield with a mist of coolant was a bitch to clean off.

I had to charge battery as I don't drive it much. took it to get washed (ofcourse) then went on a little cruze. will pull dip stick tomorrow and blot on paper towel. I did check oil level, and oil looks clean. but again I don't drive it much. I will check intake and headbolts just for peace of mind.
