lost trans any ideas what broke?

hi i left work pulled wot three gears pulled hard and shifted great i had to slowdown for other cars then i hit it to pass trans downshifted started to pull boost and bang no gears any thoughts on what broke?

Just a wild guess..... but the front stator support (I think that is what it is called) might have stripped the splines. It is the larger diameter splines you can see whn you pull the converter off the tranny. They are not hardened from the factory... and wear considerably over time. There are many people here that have had them strip.

I'm sure there could be some other hard part inside broke.... but the stator support would be my guess.

What HP level are you at?

Who built the tranny if it has ever been rebuilt... and how long ago?

i went out and took the converter off the splines are in great shape aswell are the ones in the converter it must in the trans i guess

oh i have a stock engine i just put on a ta-49 some 42 lb injectors adjustable fuel reg a hotwire kit and pump and hooker exaust 58k on the car trans is stock

Someone here will come up with a suggestion.

FWIW.... don't mess with a local rebuilder for the tranny. Have someone here recommend where to go. Board member "Brian" has tons of positive feedback and can provide a tranny ready to go... no core needed shipped to your door.... and it won't be junk..... there will be people after my post back Brian's trannys up.... many of which run low 11's and quicker.

the trans does not try to go in any gear and no noises i will go with one of the trans guy from the tr web ring for sure if needed

well i got the trans apart and it was the shaft on the forward drum chris at ck is going to set me up with a new one thanks for the correct imput guys

Hey Dale, I see you finally broke the trans in my old "T". It was just a matter of time. I just broke drum number 6. I'm also waiting for a couple of drums from Chris.

It just did not like the new turbo and stuff .I broke the end of the shaft of the forward drum in two. I will shoot you some times when i get it back together i will be going to track in phoenix to see how she does

With the billet shaft on the drum, I don't think I will have to worry about it anymore. My son has been running one for 3 years with no problems.
