There is one out there (382ci LS1 w/ a single 88mm turbo) that made 1150fwhp on a motor dyno at Wheel to Wheel.... The motor was going in a '96 Formula drag car that weighs 3100lbs and from what I heard it ran 9.19 this weekend at the North Vs. South race... Here is a thread about the motor...

Pretty impressive, but I don't think it will stay together very long (they are pushing it to the limits) and making more power than that would most likely require an iron truck block (6.0L) or better yet the C5-R block....
