So I am pulling apart the stock turbo and I have one stuck bolt on the exhaust elbow, and one stuck on the compressor section under the oil intake. I was wondering if anyone knows a good machine shop in southern Arizona that could help me with my situation.

Might get a better response in the southwest section. I'm curious to know that answer myself as I'm in Casa Grande area.

I just took matters into my own hands haha. I took it to Larry's Engine & Marine, I had searched other vehicle forums and heard good things. They are also going to media blast it for me.

You need to go to Zimmerman's in Phoenix

I am rebuilding the stock turbo and its never been taken out until now, so all the hot side bolts are corroded and breaking off and rounding heads. So I took it to them to see if they could split it. Also media blasting the housing, compressor section and exhaust elbow

At the cost of rebuilding your turbo, you could buy a new bigger turbo like a TA49. Call Chooper at Limit Engineering or call Nick. Last time I was at his place, he had a few turbos laying around. Both are located in AZ

Yeah, as of right now, just trying to get the ol' girl back on the road after a lengthy suspension rebuild and the turbo inner shaft having some bad play wearing out the insides causing some bad smoke. After I catch up with all the required upgrades i.e. (scanmaster, hot wire fuel pump, etc.) I'm sure I will be looking for another turbo. Plus I already ordered a rebuild kit from gpop and took the housing to the machine shop to get my broken bolts out and media blasted. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it

I would love to tell ya, but I haven't got the car back yet....... I am meeting Nick at 3pm.

nice, im headed out there monday. time to pick up my car

Well, should have just taken your advice Gaston... Pulled the turbo out and opened, everything was probably mere miles from failure. Thrust bearing had 10+ stress fractures and combustion side bearing was just horrendous, inlet blades had contacted the housing and the compressor side had contacted the exhaust shield destroying the blades on the bottom and giving hem a mean hook towards the tips. I tried to convince myself i could fix it, so me and my buddies rebuilt it anyway, put it in the car and it sounded like high pitched nails on a chalkboard. So i am clearly in the market for a new turbo. So your suggestion would be a TA-49 from Nick? PM sent with number
