R RmvBfrFlght Well-Known Member Joined Sep 28, 2007 Mar 6, 2009 #4 Both the crank & cam sensors are Hall type sensors. Usually a mag pulse sensor is a reluctor type of pickup. This is a simpler 2-wire sensor that provides a different type of signal then a Hall Effect sensor. RemoveBeforeFlight
