Throwing a mal 34 code. Unplugged maf while car was on and it shut off. It stumbles a little bit while driving and tries to die most times at idle and as soon as I hit zero vaccum it stumbles like crazy.

Not that I know of bud. I keep a stock one around just for that reason. At least then I would know if its the translator/maf combo. Haven't worked my way in to having a spare lt1 mass air.

Just realized you were on the coast,I'm from Laurel. I'm offshore or I would give you a hand.

Also hooked up lap top to Powerlogger, I'm gettinging a reading from the maf (6-7) at idle

If you press the gas pedal to the floor during KOEO what does the MAF reading do?

If it goes up with the throttle, the ECM isn't seeing a MAF signal. If it stays static, the ECM is receiving feedback from the translator.

Try reseating the connector on top of the ECM. I would also try to swap out the ECM if you have a spare or a TR buddy. May need to poke the ground wire and see if it's grounded or run a jumper wire from the battery to it.

Af stays

af stays at 4 koeo at wot. No change

That means our ECM is hearing data from the translator (mind reads 3).

It's looking like you might have a flaky translator. Have you verified that it's not full of water or has corrosion on the chip pins? It seems like it's got a socketed IC in there. And just to make sure the dumb stuff is covered... are the knobs set correctly. I would imagine it the got turned to the wrong MAF on the lean setting that might set a 34.

so just to make sure I'm up to speed... you've got a MAF code, you've changed MAF and the ECM but not the translator, correct?

Everything looks fine inside the translator. It was set correctly for the lt1 and is set right now for the ls1 maf. I swapped ecms as well and nothing changed... I haven't swapped the box out yet.. It happened after swapping a 3bar map in, a new coil and module and wiring up my fans to a switch...I checked the routing around the coil and its still run like its always been

It looks like the easiest step is to borrow a translator and see if that fixes it.

What's odd is your code is 'MAF low' yet your KOEO reading is 4 and mine is 3 without throwing a code. When you reset the ECM does the code appear while driving or is it instant?

It comes on a few feet after backing out of the driveway.

got a powerlogger screen grab of that? I'm guessing when you put it in drive, maybe that's what triggers the code. I believe it takes 5 seconds of being low to throw the code, so that sounds about right. What does the MAF read when you put it in drive?

What's your MAF reading at idle. To throw the code gnttype(and that sheet) says you have to be below 4g/sec for 5 seconds.
