a n00b when it comes to TB's yeah probably but i'm no dumba**... just dont like the word noob:mad:, anyway im abandoning this thread in hopes that you all will continue ur new Pot smoking section... congradulations... Njoy and peace.

We have had this discussion before, haven't we. Perhaps "Close minded" is the wrong thing to say. Just because someone does not believe marijuana should be legal does not make them closed minded. Perhaps they are so open minded that they can see beyond selfish agendas and look out for a the bettering of society.

If and when it's legalized, any body want to guess how long until a board members life is dramatically affected by the legalization? I thought I was done putting up with this trash when I graduated high school. Now those idiots can vote and do some pretty serious damage to the country in a short amount of time. Do you ever wonder what smokers lives are like? How many of them have serious problems (domestic problems, career problems, other dependencies) with other aspects of their life when compared to non-pot smoking peers? I am sure they have more self inflicted things to get themselves stressed about, letting them justify the drug use.

It's OK, I try to live a cleaner life than that, I have more respect for myself and my family.

A year or so ago in Lexington, KY a man left work early to go home and get high before his wife was to get home from work (that he remembers). He went home, got stoned and his wife found their daughter, dead in his Durango. What really happened was He picked her up from school, went home and got high, leaving her in the hot sun to die. That's trash for you.

Haven't tried it huh?

This topic is BS for the most part. Only those who have large amounts of cannabis go to jail. Most its a misdemeanor. If it were legalized for purchase in small amounts it would surely cost a lot more than it does on the black market. From what ive gathered working directly with the public and associates in all age groups those that smoke cigs, drink alcohol, smoke cannabis, use other rec drugs, and abuse prescription drugs miss more scheduled work for less than apparent reason, are sick more often, and have more BS excuses as to why there performance is sub par. The only thing legalizing it for purchase in small amounts will do is help the gov get more tax $. It will be a continual nuisance legal or not to those who have to deal with its effects just like other rec drugs. Those that think legalization will make it legal to be in possession with large amounts, huge crops, or distribution of it are in for a shocker since those situations will never be legal. IMO penalties for drug related injuries resulting from car crashes or other machinery because of mind altering chemical usage are not severe enough. Cannabis has proven to slow down reaction time. When combined with alcohol or other drugs its a real problem:
Erowid Cannabis Vault : Marijuana and Alcohol Combined Increase Impairment

I dont know about anyone else but i sure want the other drivers on the road to be as alert as i am. Its not possible to test for immediate impairment levels like it is for alcohol either. So even if you knew someone just smoked cannabis for an hour straight and then jumped into a car a started driving you would have no case against them if they hit someone.

If its good enough for Dre and Snoop.........
even snoop stopped because he realized it was holding him back in the business world. dr dre... haha the guy isnt even close to what he appears to be in his videos. you wont find a bigger snoop or dre fan on this board than I.. but dont be fooled by them

Good Points...

Thats not what happens. Weed isnt that addicting, and you can still drive when you smoke (not a good idea, but much safer than alky). I think people WITH Buicks should smoke, these cars are nerve wreaking to say the least .

Even if it gets legalized, the people that have'nt ever smoked it wont all the sudden say "lets get high", there are people that dont drink or smoke cigarettes and they are legal substances. Its up to you as an individual to make your own decisions in life and decide what you want to do with it. Its also up to you to raise your children to make good choices in life.
much safer than alky..haha.. "well lets see...driving with one leg out the window is much safer than driving blindfolded so i think its ok" anytime your comparison is against something negative it cant be too good..

Well, P*t has been around for probably a good 2000 years, you read about in the bible, and the aztecs found it useful in healing and in prayer. And until this century, I have never read or learned, or heard of anybody dying from its use, other than from the "drug War" that OUR goverment created.

Now, Im not an advocate of its use, I dont reccomend it, and dont use it myself* and sure as hell dont want my kids to use either, until there 21 and are an adult and can make life decisions for themselfs. if they choose to use, Thats fine... but I would hope that they can make an educated choice, and atleast have the freedom too.

And thats my point, All I want is the freedom to make that decision myself. I dont need to be protected - I am an american, and want my freedom as i was promised. not as the "Goverment" sees fit for me.

The legalization of P*t is not entirely about the use of the substance, its more so the movement behind it. its showing that the people want choice, even if the answer is wrong. being able to choose your own destiny and life is something that everyone wants right? Dont you want to choose what you may smoke or drink? or do you trust your "Goverment" that much?
legaliztion of many things has become more common, just watch the news, particularly in this economy - where you can no longer buy happiness as easy as years past, having the simple freedoms in life that we use to, could change an entire country.

and yes, I agree... P*t is not a good thing, and bad things do happen from its use. But so does alcohol, ciggarettes, perscription drugs, and spray paint can you just finished bombing your engine with.

If your that stupid, to let anything control you and your life that much. we obviously didnt need your genes in the pool. and the world may be better off.

:eek:A.j.
well how much freedom do you think you deserve? i think the speed limits should be 100 on every street but i know 25 residential is for my well being and others.. why should it stop at weed? why not crack and coke? because weed "isnt as bad"? this country is great because you are allowed to think and speak free not because you can do whatever the hell you feel like.. when you have that you have chaos. you already have the choice to smoke weed thou.. its up to you not to get caught..

4:20? Grown man acting like a high school kid.

lets bring up drug dealers for a second... drug dealers are drug dealers because they obviously dont wanna get a real job.. so legalize weed... now you just put that many people outta business that will probably still not get a real job but move on to robbery, selling harder drugs...

Pot should be legal to grow your own if you wish, I said your own, not for the whole city, IE: selling it for a profit, but any powder drugs are bad, if anyone has done them you know that they are bad, JMO. plus the pot out there today is very potent, not like most of the stuff that was around 30-40 yrs. ago.

Who does the law prevent from using Marijuana?...... Now THINK!...

Law-abiding citizens.

If a fellow wants to smoke weed in America these days...all he has to do is go get it. It's not hard.

The only people the law prevents from using Marijuana...are the people who follow the law...usually from fear of a drug tests at work.

My point is this...current laws criminalize some of the most upstanding members of our society. I have a freind that did 10 years...day for day...for an amount of Marijuana, that in Texas, would have been a misdedmeanor. But you can get out in 5-7 after molesting a child.

As far as 'gateway drug' BS goes...I can sing the same song about alcohol...it boils down to personal choices. A crackhead is gonna be a crackhead. Moderation....Moderation....

Would there be more crime or less crime...if alcohol was made illegal again? History has already proven this one to us....It's a no-brainer.

Think the same may hold true for Marijuana?

YOU CANNOT LEGISLATE MORALITY. ASK AL CAPONE!!!...or whatever guido is making the money these days.... I PROMISE they don't want it legal.

When did Snoop quit smoking:eek:

You obviously do not know anyone that is a decent person that smokes. I know VERY successful businessmen that smoke every day. I would bet you anything you couldn't pick them out of a group of choir boys...

If nothing else it should be made legal for medical purposes. Back when I was in college we had a special fat sack labeled the Flu Bag... If you got sick and needed to feel better, just get the flu bag;) Man that was a long time ago:frown:

If you think pot should be illegal you should feel the same about alcohol... Just IMO...

The war on drugs is a terrible waste of money and man power. Officers getting killed and all... As long as the profit margin is still there dealers are going to find ways to smuggle it in... No way to argue with that!

I'll admit it, I smoked pot in college and for a while after college until I got my job and had drug testing. I loved it. In college, my buddies would go out partying during the week and couldnt get out of bed for class. I stayed at home, burned a one hitter with a couple friends and went back to the room and studied. I didnt miss much class and always laughed when the drunks didnt come out of their rooms till 2pm.

I think it should be legal, not during work hours. No working while intoxicated on alky or stoned. If you are caught, your gone. If I want to to sit out in my garage on a Friday night and light one up, I should have the right. It's a free country right?........ not really now.

I dont agree with any other drugs, I've never done any other drugs besides tobacco, weed, and alky and I never will. I was around the other stuff a TON in college and never had the urge to try it.

On a side note, I know a LOT of proffesionals who smoke regularly. These include Police officers.

LEGALIZE IT, TAX IT!!! Use the money for schools and public roads.

Jeremy you used to get high...I would never think that :)

Anyways my thoughts has always been they don't want to legalize it because they cannot tax it as much. Anyone can grow it in there house. Think how many people would throw out their cigarettes and pick up a joint.

im not sure if he picked the habit back up or not.

i do know decent people that smoke weed but despite the sentiment in this thread weed ISNT legal so while they are decent people they are still doing illegal stuff thats part of the dirty drug trade.

one beer doesnt get you drunk... one joint will get you high... not compareable.

murder is against the bible and its against the law...so you are saying you can't legislate morality? a lot of this country's basis was founded on the moral of christianity... learn ur History instead of using ethnic slurs.. I am not offended by "guido" but if guido is allowed then they all should be.. Don Corleone knew drugs were bad for business. He wouldnt go for Solotzo's deal. Thats how luca brazzi ended up sleeping with the fishes! :D

Evidently Phillip Morris could run 4500 joints per min........
and in the late 60's early 70's bought many 1'000s of acres in Mexico.
Just in case.

So you are telling me you go through every single day of your life without breaking ANY laws at all? You don't speed even 1mph over?

I usually steer away from contraversial topics, but there is a show on The History Channel called The Founding Fathers. Apparently George Washington grew pot on his property and they speculate that the Constitution was written during drinking and smoking meetings. Also said the Constitution and Bill of Rights were written on hemp paper. And Ben Franklin loved orgies.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

And Ben Franklin loved orgies.

I would like orgies, but the wife, not so much.

As far as the legalize or not, I'm all for taxing it just like alcohol.
