what would be max power capable with a SBC single turbo q-trim 70 compared to twin 60-1's the motor is a 383 alcohol (straight methonal)injected small block. I'm assuming power would be down a little (compared to gasoline) because of lower egt's while running alcohol.

thanks in advance
Ryan

I would call PTE. I think the exhaust side will be the problem on a SBC on a single Q trim 70, especially if it's a larger motor. A single would more than likely choke the sbc somewhat. So with the exhaust side sized correctly I think twin 60's would be a better route of the two.

Why not a GTS-76 or something in a single with a larger exhaust side.....

Power should not be down at all because of the alcohol. If it can't make the same power on alcohol it's because of the tune up. Straight alky is a whole new animal to tune.

What kind of power do you want and is this efi or carb?

the reason for running this 70 q trim (.85 housing) is just because I have it, so I was planning on trying it out and seeing what it would do. The motor is a 383 all forged internals, afr heads and fuel injected with one of those new aeromotive belt driven pumps running methanol. I have found a Garrett GT-42 94mm turbo with a 1.15 AR for a steal so maybe I should get that, whatcha think?

I can only guess what kinda power you could make with that 70 but 700hp should be easy. With that size motor you'll start choking the harder you push it.

How much power do you want to make? FAST can run up to 16 injectors so you'll have enough room on methanol to make more than a stock block can handle. If 700 is enough then the 70 should be fine. Twin 60's will make more and the GT-42 should make 1000. I think that 42 has a 74mm inlet with a large compressor cover.

Sounds like a cool ride anyway. I just prefer gas over meth due to the learning curve of tuning it.
