Does anyone know what kind of exhaust the newer mercury maurader has? I was just behind one a little old lady was driving and it sounded mean! I guess its mercurys version of the IMPALA SS their both pretty awesome cars and i'd hate to have to pick which is nicer. My GM'NESS wont allow me to answer that question!

Assuming that said "old lady" didn't have aftermarket mufflers on it, I'm gonna say it's more than likely either the same ones the '03-'04 Cobra Mustangs (Terminator) got.

Or the same mufflers the Mach 1 got for the N/A Marauder.

I had a 2003 Blue Marauder, one of only 328 Blues made. They did sound very nice, from factory, nice purr, and super quiet on the inside. I'm going to suggest it was stock. I couldn't tell you what Ford used for mufflers or resonators but they did sound good. They came with a 4.6 L 32 Valve v8 similar to the one found in the Mach 1.

Ford was about 9 years to the party with the Marauder.. i have a sales brochure somewhere that uses the 96 Impala SS as a benchmark, and the Marauder comes off as not looking as good in any way as the Impala in even the Ford sales materials..

that being said, they were cool cars for what they were.. i almost bought a brand new '03 in the summer of '04 that had been sitting in the dealer showroom for over a year and a half for $15k. it had like 9 miles on the odometer. the salesman said that they never had anyone ask to take it for a test drive and they just wanted it the hell out of there so they could show off something that would actually sell..

I had a '03 Mach 1 and became very familiar with the 4.6 32 valve engine. The exhaust sounded good stock however I replaced the stock mufflers with Borla exhaust :) When I was in the Ford world I seen some awesome Mauraders pushing more than 500 rwhp with superchargers.
