I know that aren't many on this site that fit that description, but I thought I'd mention that I got the new Hatebreed CD today,'The Rise OF Brutality' and it is just that: brutal. Friggin' sick heavy it is. Anybody else got any news on good stuff goin' on?

Never liked em, but I have not heard their new album. I will get a chance tonight as I am going to see them open up for SLAYER.

\x/, RAWK!

Man I saw Hatebreed and Meshuggah last year, Down is still my favorite live show, with SOAD up there..Pantera is still my alltime heavy metal favorite..METAL RULES :):)

dude, check out this band Arch Enemy, they rock..... they have sonds and videos that you can download off there site..

http://www.archenemy.net/samples.shtml

not bad for a chick singer? man, they were down here a couple days ago and i missed them, i am sooooo pissed, i would have loved to see them...

hatebreed rocks though, i love the song off there last CD called I will be heard.

check out a band called devildriver also, they are new, but so far what i have heard of them they are pretty damn good.

yeah,i saw hatebreed open for slayer a couple years ago...not bad...not great...

good news:rumor 'round the campfire is page hamilton is gonna put helmet back together for a reunion tour...betcha he'll get sick of it all to open...

If you guys listen to that stuff I know you must have heard of Soulfly. Probably my fave for 5 years now.

I was supposed to go to that show but i was sick. I saw hatebreed and slayer play at tattoo the earth 2000. Slayer is still the greatest band of all time.

I'm just so freakin' stoked that Fear Factory is back in the studio and has a tour planned some time around February....still no word on the new member, though.

Slayer & Pantera='nuff said!! Anselmo & the boys of SJR will be playing a few tunes for us in S.C. this coming Wednesday night.

There's a band I've also been hearing of lately called Sepultura, sounds like they have a lot of good stuff. Same goes for Ill Nino. Slipknot is probably my all-time favorite to come back to, even though the classic Pantera is awesome.

Sepultura is a pretty old band. they are from Brazil if i am not mistaken. there orgional singer, (on there first CD, i believe called roots) quit Sepultura and started another band called Soul Fly. both pretty good in my book.

what happened to slipknot? did they break up? or whats going on, corey taylor and mick went off and started another band and so did joey? is slipknot no more?

Soulfly are actually some ex members of Sepultura, which started getting some real popularity in the us in the early nineties. Speed metal is hege in south america and brazil, where Sepultura is from.

Lots of good metal out there, here are some of my present faves I'm listening to right now, if it's new to you check some of it out.

Between the Buried, the Dead , and me.

The newest Lamb of god album, As the Palaces Burn.

Mastadon...........burly stuff.

The Assistant

Atreyu

Burnt by the Sun

Darkest Hour

Converge.........classic hardcore

The Swarm, Parasitic Skies

The Hope Conspiracy (good stuff too)

Not Waving But Drowning

On Broken Wings

Poison the Well

Propaghandi, From Empires to Ashes... not metal, but if you have not heard this album, it rips.

Alot of this stuff is more hardcore than Metal, but whatever.

And BTW, Slayer kicked a$$. Always a great show.

Metal/Hardcore fans...

Speaking of Pantera...does anyone realize they have been around since 82?? I have old cassettes from when Terence Lee was the singer. There was "Metal Magic" from 83, "Projects in the Jungle" from 84, "I am the Night" from 85 and "Power Metal" from 88, which was Anselmo's first with Pantera. Metal Magic is the only one I can't get ahold of. Never been able to find it on vinyl, cassette or remastered on CD. In fact, I can't find any of these on CD.:(

I thought I heard somewhere about them working on a new album, but then again, you know how Slipknot is, losing band members left and right ever since the day they started.

Sepultura (means coffin in portugese) has been around for awhile...their first proper US release was called Beneath The Remains...a brutal album...which was recently reissued.. After Roots was recorded it seemed that Max..the original singer was having some problems to put it nicely with in the group...so he left to form Soulfly. Sepultura found a new singer and continued...by the way the drummer for Sepultura Igor is his name and Max are brothers....

I mostly listen to the darker side of metal....stuff that makes Slipknot sound like easy listening...

so if you dare....check out
Emperor
Dimmu Borgir
Mayhem
Darkthrone
Dark Funeral
Marduk
Dissection
Immortal
Borknagar
and many others.....but I am glad to see other metal heads

Slayer rules ...if it wasn't for them I never would had got into metal...

:D

ever hear of a group called resurrected? i listened to them for a while, but i seemed to have grown away from them.

Lamb of God rocks, i have heard some of there new stuff and i was pretty impressed.

what do you guys think of Otep? i guess i have a thing for metal bands with chick singers  well, i take that back, i dont really like kittie all that much....

Slipknot is KICKING AND SCREAMING STILL!!! They have some of the new album already done and if i can remember are currently working on the other half of the CD. Corey stated that if you like PEOPLE = SH!T, then you are going to love the new album. That is one of my favorite songs so i have to say that i am dying to hear the new stuff. I am not too much into the real heavy metal like Arch Enemy and Cradle of Filth. I consider myself a little heavy metal kinda guy (if that makes any sense:confused: ). If I had to recommend a CD to buy that i recently purchased the new STATIC-X CD is worth a listen. And i cant help but add that there is a local/national band that is striving to make it in a business that has screwed them from day one and the band is called DOPE. They are pretty heavy and they just released a new album called Group Therapy so if you have $10 sitting around and you dont have anything to spend it on, be kind and help out a killer band. Here is their site for anyone that is interested, they have snippets of songs http://www.dopearmy.com/

Dope's new CD has 13 songs and 13 music videos on it... one for every song

anyone watching headbangers ball now? i love that show...

Whew....You guys listen to some HARD (scary) metal.

How about some real old school. Judas Priest is back with Rob Halford. Now that's what I'm talking about.

The Priest is B A C K!!!!
