Hey guys i have a peg leg (limited slip diff) and have to run a stock WRX not (STI) ....still turbo though. Anyway i am going to have alky before the time comes for us to run (JAN 6 ). what i wanted to know is if i get my hands on some mickey thompson et streets, will this help or will this only break my one leg:frown: I am really wanting to get some, but am not sure if my diff can handle them

no

no you will not break your diff. the gm 8.5 rearend is very strong. there are cars in the 9's and 10's with the 8.5 rear end

I have the factory limited slip (G80) and dont have a problem, it is locked all the time right away, i have never noticed it spinning one wheel ever in any condition! On the other hand the 8.625 G80 in my truck is gm's "Mistake" (Gov-lock) differential! Piece of crap already shattered once and is a half and half idea if its going to lock when i stomp on it, or it will lock with one hard clunk.

Also i stomped a WRX with and intake and exhaust hard, when i only had street tires on my car and a good exhaust system, adjustable fuel press, stock chip, complete intake tube and 9" K&N Filter! Not sure on your setup or his, but if he is close to stock, and you have even a couple, mods i wouldnt be worried. Some times it comes down to how good he can launch, and how good he can shift.

Dan

THATS EXACTLY what i think as well. He has all wheel and i dont know what kinda driver he is. Its Super stock though, either way its the all wheel drive that im worried about:confused:

AND FINALLY RAZORS KIT  :D :D  but i still need to install  but i plan on running 18 to twenty PSI
If i didnt have the kit.....i dont think i could take him:frown:

Ha ha, with that setup (similar to my old one, before intercooled) i would say maybe shoot him like 5 lengths then go blowing past him 1/4 throttle, hopefully he is BSing you and has something good under the hood or its going to be a boaring race, and a waste of your time and money. When i was near stock he got me for about 60-70 feet then i was reeling him in especially on the shifts, oh then i passed him, lol!

LOL  LOL LOL your crazy  kool thats good news;) he wants to film it. I was not to sure because i dont want to let the community down. If i did not have the alky i would be running him at 10 PSI, but if i have the alky installed before JAN 6 ( the run ) then i will for sure let him film it and ill get it up on the boards and you tube :D ....the kit comes in tuesday and then i have too still order the hoses, soo that means those wont be in tell the next week, Lets hope i can get all this done before then. If not Jan 6th is my Birthday so i could always postpone for the week after:( . But that wont look to good, this guy has been wanting to run me for months  ....this mostly comes down to the install. If i can install the kit in a day, then every thing is good, if not well then ......ohh and most likely i will not have the tires :frown:

Don't count on the alky. It may a bit longer to tune it, unless you have a WB and EGT.
Not worth the chance of blowing a HG.

If you are sead set on Jan 6th, spike the gas and turn it up.

Some Xylene (1 gallon Xylene to 3 gallons 93 max, with some marvel mystery oil to keep it lubed, because Xylene is such a "Dry" chemical)
OR,
Some 110 Turbo Blue Race Gas (1 gallon TB to 3 gallons) worked well for me.
just some pointers

You should not have any problem- I killed a WRX-STI-The young kid was in shock and now he doen't fool with me. Brad

Dan,
You got quite the set-up!
Any idea what she runs?

HA HA HA. If the trans would stop breaking or having problems. On a slipping, not shifting at WOT trans, with no alky,no intercooler, no Spray, on street tires, TA-33C on 18PSI, i knocked out a 13.8 :( with a horrible 2.5  60', that was leaving on a no boost no vac. launch blowing tires away at the 60'. Multiple problems, i guess it wasnt that bad!

Ill post a pick of my new setup, soon, im working on getting the gaskets, and making the custom intercooler piping, and finishing the upper plenum to the 86-87 upper plenum, i will be running turbo in stock location, while experimenting with the new NX kit.

,Dan

If you are even half way tuned, and the WRX is half way stock there is no way he will give you any trouble. Just go light on the throttle, and let him finish within a couple lengths. Then give him a couple cars and race for a hundred bucks or so. Try not to kill too bad, and then he will keep modifying his car and you can keep making money for a long time. I agree with the idea of mixing race gas instead of trying to tune the alchol before the race.
Danny
Oh yea and peg leg means you have a open carrier, no posi, no limited slip, no locker, just one tire smoking and smoking and smoking and....................

AND AND :D LOL LOL. Well i dont know much about rear ends..... just the female kind  LOL any way , my buddy was saying that their is this stuff that you can get at a paint store. He told me the stuff can be used in place of race gas. Where can you get Xylene .....and of course is it pricey . One time i put a red armstrong chip that was burned for a IC car in my car. When i did a burnout with the chip in the car i noticed my BLMS where like 110 115 and the car died lol :( my poor car :( anyway , when i pulled away THEIR WAS TWO VERY STRONG BURN MARKS INSTEAD OF THE USUAL....ONE. What does that mean:confused:

That just means your a crazy redneck from Texas! I can't believe you gave up Sunday morning cartoons for football today! :D

Xylene IS A PAINT THINNER AND IS FOUND AT A PAINT STORE! It is about 10$ a gallon, and dont forget to mix a little marvle mystery oil with it.
