Looking at trading my GN for a 72 Nova 468 4-speed car. Still trying to sync up but it is looking promising.

thats pretty sweet but man.... think u better think that one thru first.

Looks slow

Might need to put a v6 in it .. And your hand will love the edge of that bench seat every time you hit forth gear hard .. I hope hes giving you some money on top ... Oh well good luck ..

no offense, that car is nice...but so common, i walk right past 90% of chevys at shows..

what i dont see commonly is Gran Sports, 442/cutlass and nice mopars. if you looking for a big block car i would go with a gran sport!

if you want something slower and cost you hundreds of dollars to criuse down clearwater bch than get it.it a preety sweet nova. no a/c in Fla big block guess you planing on driving at nite when its cooler.put some slicks spray it w/300shot and a powerglide and you will love it. had a 70 big block 4speed chevelle ss they get really hot in the summertime.

Damn! you guys are killing me:biggrin: The whole reason I traded my 64 for the GN was it slugged gas(110 octane), needed to be trailered to the track or show and had no A/C!!:p Dammit I was all set to trade. Had myself talked into it and everything.
My old "slow" nova

I will be putting vintage air on it if I do the trade. What I need to do is park the GN and start working on my 69 SS 396 camaro to subdue this itch I got for the sound of a cammed up V-8:wink:

thats a pretty sweet looking nova but i vote sticking with the GN and getting an Alky kit on there... if you do you will never look back:cool:

I agree, keep the GN. I've had everything from a Top Flight 84 Corvette that won evey concourse it was entered into, to a pto touring 545 hp 4speed 70 Camaro. Yet, this is my 11th Turbo Buick that I have owned since late 2000. If you do decide to trade, you'll probably be back. It's a curse I tell ya, a course. Lol

I'd probably do it!!! But then, I got two GN's so I'd still have one.

And....that's a real big block nova, not just another converted granny car.

Do what you want, but remember this. If you get rid of the GN, you'll get another. Like Raymond said, it's a curse, haha.

On a side note, sorry I didn't like up with you when I was in St. Pete. Busy non-stop. Had to put the car up and keep rolling.

I have a friend that did the same thing. He traded his GN for a Nova. About 6 months later, he wanted his GN back. He is still looking for one! Now that being said, you do what makes you happy! We are all here because of the Turbo Buicks so most of the opinions will be one sided. Who said you can only have one toy. If you can, have both!

Good luck
Prasad:cool:

Do it, they are just cars. If you do not like it after a while get something else.

Yep

A car is just a car .like a whore is just a girl .. But you dont want to get caught with a dirty one ..

Absolutely. Having owned about 30 muscle cars over the last 25 years I can honestly say, I am not one to get attached. The longest period of time I owned a car was my 64 chevy II(7 yrs) and that's becuase it took me
about 2 years to build it.

hello; I'll tell you one thing it would be alot less complicated and less expensive till you blow it up. But in this economy I'd stay away from a large displacement engine but that's me and that leads me to the TB. There you have the power and some economy and that's why you're seeing auto makers like Ford cum out with the eco-boost. But if that's for you go for it. I do love the sound of a big hi-po V8.

im pretty sure for most of us these are our play cars...i dont think many people are concerned with MPG...people make a big to do about nothing when it comes to the price of gas in their recreational cars..it might make you spend 200 more on gas in a year..not a big deal when you talking about cars worth 10's of thousands..so big displacement shouldnt have a bearing on anything..but like i said. chevys are super boring and the owners are not as friendly as the niche groups like buicks, Turbo buicks, olds...etc..

to add on what i didnt before. i think those 70's novas are ugly and post coupes in genreal look cheap as Sh*t...chevys in always seemed cheap to me. if i woulda found a decent GN or 442 when my cutlass got stolen i would never bought an MC SS.

GNs are sinister looking, attention grabbers.. a BB nova to the people on the fringe of the car world are just an old muscle car..even to me a car guy their rarity and value doenst effect how i view them. i just see them way too much. SWPA is chevy strong for the most part so when i do see a nice buick its a treat!

i'd trade in a heartbeat.. of course, i'd be swapping out the drag specific goodies on that nova for stuff to help it corner and stop better and finding a way to ditch that hood for something a little more flat..
