Just won an auction on eBay for a mini-chopper. GD cool little thing, should make a great pit bike. I'll use it around town to run errands too. Been thinking about making one. This on is a Custom Mini Chopper drag bike style.

I'll try to get some pictures of it soon. Haven't even picked it up yet. I can't wait !!!

Mini choppers are cool pit bikes... Im in the planning stages of a twin engined one (engines angled to look like a V twin and two engines will hopefully give a miniature harley sound). If I could have figured out a simple pressurized oiling system it would have been turbod but I guess I'll hafta stick with a mini supercharger for now. If all goes well I'll have a miniature belt drive similar to the 3-4" ones you see on custom full sized bikes also.

Post pics when you get the bike :)

I didn't want to post the link because I think I spent too much but what the hell, I'm too excited. Here it is.

FWIW, my lawn mower has a 20hp Koehler V twin. At it's lowest idle, it lopes rather nicely, makes 37ft/lb too! That would be the perfect motor for one if I ever build one. This one will stay as it is with the possible exception of some braided lines, maybe a tail light and perhaps paint to match the Metro.

If you go to www.fullblownminis.com that some of them are as nice as a real chopper. The price for these kits is ~$3500-4500 (kit as in assembly required and no paint). This particular bike is from that company I believe. The frame looks very similiar in the details.

I showed my boys tonight before they went to bed and told my 6 year old the bike and told him it is actually short enough for him to ride. His eyes got real big, then he said, "does it have training wheels?"

Geez, Roger... I know you are trying to find something faster than your old GN, and this may just do it, but I really think you should wait till the Metro is done! Although it isn't much bigger than that bike! Wait.. gears turning... put a GN motor in the bike!

Looks like fun and I promise I'll try not to hit you in the pits next season! :D

I looked at the available V twin engines but they were out of my price range as the project is just a spare time/fun kinda thing. I like fabbing stuff so Im building it from scratch with "pocket change". Bascially a back yard OCC deal :D .

BTW, whats the deal with the "metro" project? Are you doing something with a geo metro or a Nash Metropolitan? Just curious as Ive wanted to do a Nash metro similar to the the "Mega-met" that was in the car mags a while back.

I've been working on a tube chassis Geo Metro for the past year. It will have a Stage 1 motor and a powerglide. I was going to use a stock block but I sold my GN with that engine in it.

The GN was getting too fast and needed to be updated with quite a bit of safety equipment which would have cost a fortune and weighed it down so I decided to make a pretty much drag only car that can be street driven no problem. Saw a yellow pro-street Metro on the net one day and thought that would be as good a candidate as any so I bought one off a dealer's lot, took it home and cut it up. Still has the "AS-IS, NO WARRANTY" sticker in the window.

I've slowly been rounding out my racing wish list and a cool pit bike was one of those items I just wanted. I have no desire for one of those insanely fast ones, so I started looking for a cool one. I think this one will do.

What do you think?

I think its pretty damn cool:D

im gonna make a pit bike out of a beer keg and a bar stool;)
