mini starter install question

Just got my mini starter from GbodyParts. Looks great.

Will it be necessary to removed the exhaust cross over pipe to remove the factory start and install the mini starter?

Any other tips or recommendations?

No, You do not need to remove the crossover.

Take the wires off first or have a friend hold it up so the weight are not on the wires when you take the bolts off.

The "new" starter weights much less and you will have more room to install the wires after you put the mini in place.

Before you first crank the engine with it, check the gear mesh first.

You will need a 16mm for the main wire and an eight mm for the start wire.

Thanks. And as simple as it sounds, I'm glad you mentioned disconnecting the battery. I hope I would have thought of that before I removed the wires but you never know. That's why is good to ask questions first.

Any details on what to look for in the gear mesh?
