For me I just did 109 hours installing a fire alarm system at a local university with a strict deadline...before the kids come back. It was a summer lost basically...so lets here your nightmare........

Worked at a plant in TN and we worked 12 hours a day 7 days a week (84 a week). It sucked but it paid the bills. Probibly the most I worked was when I had the machine shop. I worked 30+ hours selling parts, 16 credit hours in school, and the rest of the time I was at the machine shop. There were weeks I slept no more than 6 hours a night and that was a long time. That was over 120+ a week between all 3.;)

I am a low voltage technician and used to work for a National company that took care of WalMart, Lowes, Target, Sears, FedEx, etc. I had 96 hours in for the week on Saturday July 1st of 2006, I had been in 6 states, driving to all of them. I was worn out!!! I got home just before 2 am after being gone all week. As I am getting undressed to go to sleep my company cell phone rings...I answer the phone " this better be F***ing good". It was my favorite dispatcher for WalMart, Mathew.
Mathew: " man i have a great job for you",
Me :" sorry Im done, not doing any more work for the next 2 days."
Mathew: " I hand picked this just for you"
Me: "I dont care Matt, Im seriously done, I havent been home for a week and I have been up for 2 days"
Mathew: You dont understand...The company said I could give this job to anyone that I wanted too, you bust your ass for me so I picked you"
Me: "You dont understand, I really dont care what the job is, I physically cant take it, I need some sleep"
Mathew: " you have to take it, I already booked a flight in your name, you are leaving in 5 hours"
Me:" F**k that, get a refund"
Mathew:" Dude, you really need to pack a bag right now, you are going to love me...You are going to Mililani HI, WalMarts entire photo lab is down as well as the electronics department, the electrician cut the fiber optic cable and all of the data cables when the electronic department moved. I have you booked to return the night of July 3rd"
Me:" WTF????? Seriously??? WOO HOO....Im going to Hawaii..."

I ended up with over 130 hours which included the drive to the airport and flight time and drive to the rental place to get a car, return the car and flight back. I missed my flight back by 15 minutes and had to spend the 4th of July in Hawaii...Wife was PISSED...

Dont recall weekly, but in 1995 and 1996...I worked 2981 hours and 2884 and these dont include 2 weeks vacation. Remember that 40 a week for 52 weeks is 2080... I just did 24 days in a row earlier this summer.

got me beat. 79 hrs in a week on call. uncle sam took half or more. taint worth it

Ive did over a hundred a couple of times back in the day working shutdowns as an electrician...heavy construction. Dont miss it!!

I work a 4 days on and 4 days off with 12 hour rotating shifts. For 4 days I go in at 9am and get off at 9pm. I get the next 4 off then come in at 9pm to 9am. One week I had 7 straight nights and got off on Saturday at 9am and had to be back in Sunday at 9am for 6 straight days.

In the Navy we didn't log hours but there were several times of 100+ hour weeks.

You guys are hard core for sure! Hardest part for me was the hour long commute on the heels of 90 minutes sleep...far as taxes go well they withheld more than what i would gross in a 40 hour week + an 8 hour saturday, now thats gross! Quite tired here but an endless stream of coors lights & reading your stories is good for the soul...cheers men!

I work a 12.5 shift myself. Once or twice each month we do a pm and I have to work 7 straight 12.5hr nights. It sucks sometimes; but after seven I still have no problem playing 18 holes in the morning when I get off the last day. Where I work they got an exemption from the state and they can force us to work 13 days straight 12.5 hr shifts. That really sucks.

3 months straight underway on a Submarine every other 3 months for 3 years. Going back to another stint of that in less than a year....fun fun.

I just put in for 56 hours for the past 2 weeks. This summer drought sucks, nothing to do.

I have two works for ya. OIL FIELD. Working wireline 80 -110 was common. Making double bonus on days off was great. I'm not as young as I used to be so I drive in town now. I try to get 50-60 a 5 day week. I take the weekend on call if I can to get that bonus and hope they don't call me out.

Did a few 90 hour weeks in a row when the day job at the nursing home was on strike years ago. No not a scab! Management had to cover shifts of regular workers. Made big money those weeks until Uncle Sam took his cut. Now it is 40 and out the door. Overtime is a bad word at the place I am at now. I am hands on management and they have me on hourly rate not salary which is fine by me!

I'm in the Refrigeration industry, when the "on call" rotation comles around I may go a week straight(or more) with less time off the clock than on.for nearly 20 years.... the SuperMarket refrigeration business can be tough :-$

I've seen that movie dude!

I am in charge of the refrigeration/steam shop for the University of Florida Housing Dept. 3.5 million sq.ft. of dorms. Anything to do with heating, cooling, steam, hot water, refrigeration (chill water or freon) is my responsibility. We remodel one dorm a summer (this summer 4 floors and 50 rooms a floor). Completely gut it and install sprinkler, new water (hot and cold), new heat/cooling, appliances, cabinets, walls, floors, window, ceilings etc... in 8-10 weeks. The contractors all know the game and work 7 days/10-12 hours a day from demolition to final punch list paint touch up. Fortunately I only work Mon-Fri 8 hours a day. We have BCI's (building constuction inspectors) to be there supervising round the clock. The construction foremen miss the whole summer.

96 hours for me once.

I work maintenance in a foundry, and have been there for almost 15 yrs. I have been a Leadman for the last 12 years. For the last 2 yrs.(going on 3) I have been the Maintenance Lead. I have worked 300+ days, and over 3500 hrs. the last 2 years! The way things are going this year, it will probably be over 3600 hrs.!!! I also have an 80 mile commute one way! It only takes an hour & 15 min. to drive it though. It is great for the pocket book, but leaves almost no time to work on cars.
I have put in a lot of 96+ hour weeks. My longest week is 119 hours! About 9 yrs. ago I put in a killer 2 weeks during summer shutdown. I worked 114 hrs. the first week, and 98 hrs the second week. I will never do that again!!!

Those planes aernt gonna fill themselves. Airorts never close, pretty much 50+ hours easy...

I broke a hundred a couple times. Don't recall by how much. And don't miss working in that nasty foundry either!

Don't suppose it counts, but there's times that a string of 18-20 hr days of doing my own thing has been necessary too. That's fulfilling, even if it kicks yer tail!

I've had many 80hr weeks. I never kept track of exact hrs though. I wouldn't doubt I've been over 100 more than once. I typically only sleep 4-5hrs a night. Maybe an hr nap once or twice a week. I never watch tv at home. I bought one 2 years ago and it's still in the box.

Funny how living your life and not getting into that zombiefied dream state that is television allows for such little rest time to recharge for more isn't it? I was down to 3-1/2 at one point a couple years ago and hanging with the best around all day long. I think that's an important point. How much LIFE are we getting out of our lives? So many require excessive rest because they don't get the proper nutrition and further harm themselves with distractions of the mind. Anyways, I'm running on about the same downtime as you these days. More than 6-hrs prone and I'm done in for half the rest of the day recupperating before I'm fully functional again. What a waste.

We don't really count the time we have for our own endeavors. That's the true measure of life I think. How much time did you enjoy this week? If you worked 80hrs, and slept 4hrs a day, you should have still gotten another 40 hrs of personal time in after figuring 20 hrs of BS into it. I wonder how many people appreciate that 5:40 a day? It's double that on a standard work week! How many actually utilize it? I know I'm wasting some of mine right here on TB now. But I consider this place worth it. I don't spend much time online, so I try to maximize where I spend it....
