I think I've seen the highest mileage GN I thought I'd seen!!! Met the gentleman at last weekend's run through the hills here. Bob as I recall, or was it Bill? Nice guy and we started talking about his car which apperently is his daily driver and he has quite a commute.
I asked how it has held up.

Get this, he tells me everything in the power train is 100% original except for the water pump.

So I asked how many miles?

325,000+

His maintenance routine? Oil changed every 3-5K with ordinary over the counter autozone cheap dyno oil.

LOL, Yeah Bob is a cool guy and the car actually has 328,000 miles on it (nearing the 330,000 mark) and still has the stock turbo and everything! NEVER BEEN TOUCHED!!! I will be doing a small little interview with him shortly. I was also amazed that he used the El cheapo oil from advance auto all these years..

BYW: He also drag raced it this past weekend and not one single puff of smoke or tire spin! He had a damn blast he said!!! Looks like I will have to bring him to BG or Reynolds to see some fun..

Ha! It's like a fairytale story. I love it. There's a gent that really knows his GN well.

I ran my GMC Sonoma 263,000 on plain old Pennzoil 10W30 and it was very happy when I finally sold it.

Stock turbo!? It lasted this long without a BOV!? ()

Glad to see or hear about one going toward half a milliion!

I'll say it again...if I had a job where I drove my car to work and parked it all day...I would definetly drive a T or GN.

I can see it. If the car aint beat on I see no reason why it wouldn't last quite some time. But who the hell can drive a TR and not torcher it? Good 4 him

Actually very very good. Normal amount of paint faid, and trim fade, that one would expect of paint that old. But no where near as bad as many I've seen.

I doubt the drivers seat has held up, the steering wheel unless he varied how he held the wheel will be worn and the drivers pull strap is probably busted.

If his powermaster has never acted up man that is as good as hitting the lottery!

The first GNX I sold had like 175,000 on it with most of the wear issues I mention above.

It is good to see it. I have several customers that have passed the 150,000 mark.

At 300,000 plus that is ALOT of seat time........

Wasnt there another member here running his car at a road race that had close to that mileage too? I wonder if he still has the stock timing chain on there? Goes to show that GM did something right when they built these motors!! Thats just awesome!!

I will ask Bob tomorrow if he will be interested in coming to BG with his car. I think at this point it would be neat for people to look at this car and talk to the man behind all those miles. I will post his reply here.

We have a local club member that had 336742 miles in March.
The car has been driven everywhere, drag and road raced too.

I never have had that kind of luck myself...

Impressive! I have about 200,000 combined seat time on two TRs but that's 2cars and 3 motors. More power to him and the mighty Turbo Buick! Bet he knows his way around these cars and does much or all of his preventative work and parts replacement.

Hopefully I will have picthures of Bob's car in a day or so of the outside, drivers side interior, engine bay...

Hopefully he will go to BG with the car, if he does it will be displayed at the GNS tent and Bob will be on hand to answer questions...
