I bought the wife a 93 Mustang convertible. Took me some time to figure out why the AC wouldn't cool down below 59 degrees. Finally I disconnected the heater core by looping the hoses. The outlet temp. immediately dropped to 39 degrees. My question is, Does this car have a heater control valve? Rockauto.com as well as Autozone.com both show one for this car, but I can't figure out where it is or where it could possibly go.
Im hoping this is an easy question for someone who knows these cars. Thanks.

Passenger side firewall if I remember correctly.

No heater control valve.
A/C temperature control cable to the "blend door" in the evaporator/heater housing assembly behind the dash.

I found the blend door. I verified that it is closed all the way. If there is no valve then the blend door must not be sealing completely. Doesn't appear servicable either. ?????

Yeah sounds like your blend door is not sealing. I have several A/C - Heat units that I have pulled off Fox Body Mustangs here at the shop. If you were closer, I'd say come and get one. BTW you will need to loosen, if not remove the dash to install the new unit.
