Come on dude who cares at this point the car is now yours. take it in stride lifes too short.

Some of your questions are unanswerable
How Much boost was he running?
How much KR did he have?
Did he stay in it with the KR?
What octane Fuel was he using?
So it’s hard to say if these two specific runs are the cause or your current problems.

A car being run hard isn’t the whole story.
How a car is maintained and up kept means more to me.
For example a friend of mines has pretty cars and never beats on them. But then he goes 2 years and 20K miles with out changing the oil or even checking it.

i guess i'll repeat since it wasnt read the first time i posted it:

i knew the car was run hard...the previous owner told me the reason they were selling it was because his son got too many tickets and into a bunch of trouble with the car.

The fact that it had been raced at least twice in its life was not my point of making this thread. again, i am NOT UPSET about the fact that at least 1 person has floored it during its 22 years of living. i actually just figured it was kinda cool to see a video of the car in action (whether its good or bad), and i guess i was also looking for some educated input on whether these 2 instances shown would have any drastic effect on my recent problems/posts, for those of you who have been following along and helping. With every question or problem i come up with and put on this site, i give as much detail and information as possible. whether its relevant or not, i share everything to my knowledge because i feel/assume that it can only help the gurus who are being kind enough to lend some words or wisdom. THAT is why i made the post - because i know most of those who have been helping me with the tranny, TPS problem, KR, etc. will most likely have viewed it and again, i just figured that there is SOME possibility, whether it be small or large, that these races do play a significant role in what has recently been going on with my car

First logical response i've gotten. Thank you.

Lol, this thread is great. Iv'e had KR problems with my car since Iv'e owned it. The engine has been rebuilt twice (since Iv'e owned it) and I still have KR problems. Keep me posted.

I doubt your KR problems are becuase of the car being run hard. If it was raced and while knocking you would have a blown head gasket or a rod knock. As me how I know.

Don't feel bad, I lost to a RX-7 twice last week. Gave him the hit and couldn't get back in front. I will be going at it with him again and hope for better results. I will spent the time I coud use making excuses preparing for the next race.:) Its on youtube too but I won't post the link because some of the crybabies in here can't handle the location of the encounter.

Actually there were two races lost....

Lol. Not the outcome when some unsuspecting dope tries that with one of my TR's or one ive worked on:biggrin:. Time to learn how to tune and lighten the wallet a bunch.

I have been reading your thread on your KR issues and asked questions that were not answered. There are many things that can cause knock. The previous owner hot rodding the car isnt one of them. If he doamaged the motor, you would have known by now. You need to get your tune down, find out what the fuel system is, make sure you have no vacuum leaks, clean the injectors, etc. Please take time to learn these cars before getting frustrated. They arent that complicated, just take time to learn.;)

I feel your pain. When I bought my GN I was told it wasn't driven hard, rarely saw water...blah, blah, blah. Get it to my shop and find holes drilled in the upper part of the trunk. NOS:mad::mad::mad: Call the guy and he tells me not much was run through it and do I want to buy the NOS system. I just wanted to punch his weazel face in. When I pulled the engine to swap the it for another, I disassembled it and found that it was original, un-opened and only had mild bearing wear. 11 years later I still want to punch.

once again i KNEW THAT THE CAR WAS RUN BEFORE I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE THE OWNER TOLD ME HIS REASON FOR SELLING IS BECAUSE HIS SON GOT TOO MANY TICKETS AND IN TOO MUCH TROUBLE WITH IT.

I LOVE how after repeating this 48668979 times that no one still gets the point.

you need to stop sounding like a lil b!tch, maybe sell the car and get a stang or something you can handle. All these cars get knock, try using the search engine instead.
