the interior smells. i dont like it. does anyone know of anything good to tkae care of nasty odors because ever since ive had it i cant get rid of it. anyone know of some good products.

My car smelled also it sat for many years before I got it. Some green tree's and febreze the hell out of it! I sprayed that stuff heavy 5 or 6 times a year throught the year and it finally killed it. Another secret is get those fabric softner sheets.. put one under each seat. This is something Enterprise car rental does. Keeps their cars smelling nice! Reach under the seat of a Enterprise rent a car one day :D I did them all. Now I think my car has no smell other then the green pine tree's I hang in there.. Always loved that smell!

Vinegar is good for neutralizing odors. Just spray it in your carpets or where ever you think the problem originates. Won't hurt anything.

Try

Bakingsoda in the ash tray also,,,,,,works good.

If you really want to get rid of odors and not cover them up, do this:

Take out your carpet and padding.

Remove the padding from the carpet where glued and be careful not to tear it.

Take this chance to hose down and scrub the carpet real good.

Go to an upholstery / fabric shop and buy new padding. (Trust me, this does not cost much, maybe $20)

Use the old padding as a template and cut the new padding to fit.

Use 3M fabric spray adhesive to glue the new padding to the carpet.

Leave assembly out long enough for the glue to dry.

Install and leave car in garage with windows open for a couple of days to releve the adhesive smell.

You will thank me later, :D

Seriously, I had a Cavalier that had a musty odor that I could not get out. This was due to the heater core leaking. I steam cleaned the carpet who knows how many times, used Febreeze, fabric softner sheet, and the smell always slightly came back. After replacing the padding my car had no smells at all. In fact, it smelled so good that I would sometimes just sit in my old beater in amazement. Hope this helps.

Describe this undesireable oder. Is it musty smell or moldy? Was the previous owner a smoker? Or is it BEE OHHH?
Pin point that nasty oder and cure it. To just cover it up will not solve the problem.

I had bought a smokers car and smelled like cigarette smoke. I took the entire interior apart and cleaned all the plastic. The soapy water looked brown. For the seats and carpet and mat i used woolite, that works way better then the carpet cleaner in the spraycan. Plus the clean smell stays in the fabric. Funny thing is i ended up selling the car and the new owner wasa heavy smoker!

I rented a Rug Doctor from Home Depot. Added regular carpet cleaner and FaBreeze to the water. Did everything; rug, floor mats, door panels and seats. No more smell and everything looks fresh and new. Good luck.

i will try what you said buick mike im re doing the awhole car anyways and that sounds like the best plan, but first i havew to get the new engine in and running. thanks for all the input guys.:D
