Took a tour with my son & the boy scout troop this past Saturday.

Wow, I have a new appreciation for what it takes to run a department & all the training these folks have to do & know. It is not a big force at 187 officers for a 80k+ city.

Our city has an in house range & we got a wepons demo. :)

Boy what skill this guy had as a marksman shooting in the dark & normal light.

I loved the one gun that had 3 settings single shot, semi, full auto.

Boy you need a good IT department because everything is done via computer right to the cars.

I vaguely remember tagging along with my older bro's troop to a police department. Barely remember it but I know I was interested.

gotta give it to the pd

sure we may cuss them when they write us a ticket, but hell who else you gonna call when the fit hit's the shan? well let me rephrase that for some of us it may be one of those calls like nah i need crime scene and and some of that yellow tape and a hearse because this fool just found out he picked the wrong house to mess with. but seriously those guys locally do go out and take care of stuff we can only see on TV and deal with people we wouldn't touch with a 10ft pole. too bad we only hear about it when they screw up, it's rare you hear the good they do.

Too bad you didn't get to see the garage up close. You could see what unmarked cars they use so we'ld know what to look for.

sounds sweet!

but I must say, only 187 officers:eek::eek::eek::eek:

You didn't see anything special. Do a search for knob creek KY and you can see all kinds of toys blowing just about anything apart. I still remember the original FBI tour that included a live firing of a Thompson. If the agent picked you, you went home with the upper torso target and a sigiture. Now they just give you a movie to watch. Talk about a rip off.

that's any small town

heck when your bored and have a ton of time on your hands you're bound to see things get blown up, wrecked, shot up, and no telling what else. what people don't see won't get told about.
