Finished Polishing 5 hours later

Here it is. I could have done some more but i got tired of sanding.
Started with 80 grit
Then 180 grit
Then 240 grit
Then 320 grit
Then wet sanded with 600 grit
Then wet sanded with 1000
Then started buffing with Nuvite Compound (C)
I used a little 90 degree grinder to polish with and a small wool pad.
Took about 5 hours. Like i said i could have done better...but this will work for now. I just want to get it all together:D:D

Now that you spent all that time to make the housing look nice what are your plans for the hot side? It will all rusty in no time.

Speaking of the turbine housing, make sure you port the wastegate hole.

Don't forget to polish the alternator case too! I did one years ago, chrome isn't my thing...
Looks good!

How big should i go? I knew about this but was not sure how big to go. Thanks John
Also do you know what way the copper gaskete goes between the turbo and the header. It has a raised side around the inside edge about a 1/4 inch in and indented on the other.
Thanks
Tony
Your friends with my friend Kenny Smith (INTHEEIGHTS). His old car was mine.

Nice thanks bone head. Why don't you come show me!!!!:D:D

Oh you better watch out, dont make me have a little talk with you again back a dark alley! Damn that was a fun night!

"Dude she's ugly!"

"Then why are you making out with her!!!"

It's installed

Here is some pictures of it installed. I also just installed my GN1 Super Extreme intercooler. Man it's huge. I am waiting for my cold air kit to come in then it will look better.

Very nice.

If you paint your exhaust housing and center section with Eastwood high temp cast iron color paint, It wont rust. This is what my 62-65 double BB looks like after many runs and dyno pulls.:)

Happy spooling.

Nice suggestion on that paint. Eastwood makes fine products. I may try that myself. Did you have to do much prep work?

If I recall correctly john's suggestion is a good one. Many are finding that turbo almost requires you enlarge that wastegate hole. You might want to run the car at first without the wastegate actuator attached just to see what kind of boost you get.

Eastwood paint prep: Just sprayed with a prepaint degreaser.

Be carefull with the small wastegate hole. It will overboost. Be ready...

because of alignment issues, it makes sense to run the car a little so that there is a "carbon footprint" where the wastegate puck hits. Then you can use that as a guide for enlarging.

That sure is perdy. I think I'm going to use the VHT high temp silver paint for the housing. It will look like my brackete does. It just sucks to have to pull the turbo again. I did enlarge the wastegate out a bit before i installed it.
