Umm soooo is you gps broken? Or do you really have a 200mph turbo 6 powered 68 chevelle !!!!!!

Based on your car's aerodynamics and the times listed in your signature,
I have a feeling your GPS is a little optimistic.
Street cars that can do 200mph are usually at least in the 120mph range in the quarter and faster.

Not G bodies and definitely not an A body. It would likely take over 700hp and you would need to find a way to stop the air from getting under the car. The Chevelle in his sig would likely top out in the 150-160mph range.

Brian,

I agree, we have a couple Corvettes and a Supra that have seen the
200mph. Not with me in the car, (thank God).

We rolled a 155 speedo in OD on a 4th gen Camaro with a 150 shot.
That was as fast as I need to go on the street.

We wound out 3rd with the TT stage 2 car on the freeway.
I have no idea how fast we were going since I concentrating
on looking at the MoTeC numbers, EGT and not soiling the seat...

just messing around guys

Actually i switched screens on the GPS and it must have "clitched"
and when i went back to the Dash board screen it just shot up to 210 MPH So i figuered that i could generate a few colorful responses from you guys but, NONE of you took the bait.

BTW the Chevelle starts to loose weight at around 75-80 and gets REAL light after about 95. its definitely not slicing through the air

Ive been over 160mph in my black car when i was really crazy. Took about 15 sec of WOT in 4th to get there. The car had about 550hp at the flywheel back then. Probably had enough to go 170+ but i wasnt feeling to comfortable at that speed.

LOL did the same thing..... and my bumper fillers did not like going that fast either  took the next exit and met up with my buddy I was racing on his bike he looks at me and said your front fillers fell apart  :frown:

Dont really care to do that again also went threw alot of alky to get going that fast well lol

I've pulled 6100+ RPM LU in 3rd with 28" tall tires in my 87 GN. That was fast enough for me and the car was more stable than I expected but not enough to push it into 4th and see it peg the 160 MPH speedometer.
