325-4L,, I tore down my my old trans that was just sitting in my back porch today to see what I wore out, The reason I pulled this tranny and replaced it with a fresh rebuild from a t type rivi was because the second gear started to not hold under power but would hold under light throttle so and this is what I found on tear down-
- I found the direct clutch's worn to the point that some of the fibers were just metel, This is most common right?
- The direct clutch hub was notch and groved were it makes contact with the input drum, does this always happen and does notches make need for a new hub and drum?
- the band was dark but still had some meat, surprising because 2nd was not holding! can something else cause a 2nd to not hold any real power like roller clutches or something? The servo was fine
- some of the fibers in the direct clutch was leaving notches were they rest on the forward clutch housing, is this a cause of the clutches being worn to metel and would I have to replace the forward clutch housing I assume so?
I'm just doing checking things out so my next rebuild will go smoothly. Thanx again
