Can anyone identify this bracket? I have everything in place after replacing the head gaskets and every other gasket, I just cant seem to find a home for this bracket.

Funny I have the same bracket left over. Its listed as an A/C bracket but no idea where it goes

doesnt that bolt to the side (kinda) of the alternator? then to the compressor?

Back of accessory bracket to header stud
long bolt slides through that L bracket at the hole end -through aluminum accessory bracket- through ac compressor- into the flat F bracket at front of AC compressor....slotted end of that bracket goes to the lower header stud bolt at #1 and gets a m8 x 1.25 nut to hold it

So... now that one is identified I have, what about the second one here lol?

cylinder head, back of alternator and cant remember maybe alternator top

Yep the smaller bracket goes from front header bolt on the pass side to lower bolt on alternator

nope, already explained that one

the y rod bracket
the middle hole gets bolted with a short bolt to rear side of alternator at bottom
the long leg goes to the top ear of the alternator and gets through bolted with a metric bolt (15mm head m10x 1.5) and a 17mm nut to the flat ac F bracket
the short leg goes to the #1 upper header bolt stud and gets held with an m8 x1.25 nut

Good catch that will be a good description for future searches on these brackets. I was going off memory which is slipping lol

or for those without good comprehension ,
heres a pic

note gm failed to show the attachement on the rear of the alternator

Not head but top stud on #1ex port, back of alt, top hole uses through bolt that goes through AC bracket and alt. The alt is sandwiched system the compressor bracket and the y shaped bracket at the top. The stud on the manifold is 8X1.25 and the through bolts are 10x1.5. The through bolt that passes through the 3 parts requires a washer head nut. It's often been replaced with a 3/8-16 bolt/nut

Just to clarify .........all the FACTORY nuts common to 10mm bolts/studs use a 15mm wrench size. Many aftermarket sources for nuts use a 17mm wrench size. Just wanted to make sure someone didnt spend an hour looking for a 17mm nut.
