Nearly stock car track times tonight

Went out to local 1/8 mile track and car set down some nasty times for a nearly stock car. Mods are below in the signature

sixty foot: 1.654
1/8 Et : 7.911
1/8 MPH : 85.53



Last week it would only run 8.0's, so i took the sway bar off and ran a larger MT slick 26X10's mounted on ttype wheels. I'm trying to see how far I can take this car with stock turbo and intercooler. All the other GN guys can't figure it out along with me, This car just runs crazy. Its kickin for whats in it. OH btw, 03 cobra also feel victum to the "stock" GN.

Keep tuning, there is more there. I went 7.7's @ 92mph years ago with pretty much the same combo. (stock turbo, intercooler, tranny, D5, etc.) minus the DP.

yea, imma hog out the intercooler and do some home portin on the turbo too, I'd be happy with some 7.8's in the upper 80 mph range. some blue tops are prolly in the works, I'm runnin out of fuel on the top end

What fuel pressure do you run line off?

What lbs are you leaving at?

How much timing in the chip?

Bear in mind that your tune-up may not work as well on the 2nd half of a 1/4 mile track - that's when the load comes on and sh&* happens...

Well I"ve ran it up to about 120mph a few times with 110 octane and 22psi of boost. I'm sure It would handle the 1/4 just fine. I'll post up times in 2 weeks, 1/4 mile here I come!!

I don't know if you open a dump, but my mph was nearly the same as yours and when I opened the dump it picked up 0.8 mph and .08 in the eighth. When you say you mash it at the line, do you also build some boost against the brakes before mashing it? Those S10 wheel cylinders will hold at least 10 lb of boost before you mash the gas.

I'm just throwing a few things out there for you since I know from personal experience, that at this point there is not a lot of ET to gain.

Yea i'm building boost as i'm staged, its at about 5-7psi when the 2nd yellow light is on, when its the 2nd yellow light goes off i put my foot to the floor, so i imagine its at close to 10psi or so.
